We are excited to announce the second session of SPARC STEAM STATION, bringing engaging STEM and art experiences to rural communities. Join us for a hands-on STEAM Pop-Up where participants can experiment, build, design, and create through interactive activity stations led by local artists and community partners.

Activities are primarily designed for middle school-aged youth and older; however, younger children are welcome to participate with parent or guardian supervision.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the amazing mothers. Thank you for the love, sacrifices, encouragement, and strength you pour into the children each and every day. Your support helps shape confident, resilient, and hopeful young people, and we are grateful to walk alongside you in that journey.

Today, we celebrate you and all that you do. We wish you a day filled with love, peace, and appreciation.

Kindergarten enrollment kickoff is happening tomorrow.

Just a reminder that the Kindergarten Kick-Off is this Wednesday, May 6 for all schools that serve kindergarten students. For all but one of those schools, the Kick-Off will start at 2:15 pm. For the new Oak View K-8 School in Newberry, it will begin at 3:30 pm. This is a great opportunity for incoming kindergarteners and their families to talk to teachers and staff, tour the campus and learn more about their school.

And remember, school attendance boundaries are changing for the upcoming school year. Check out the maps at alachuaschools.net/ourschoolsfutureready for more information.

⏳ 2 Days Away — Be Part of Something Amazing!

On April 30, join us for The Amazing Give—a powerful day of community, compassion, and collective impact.

At the Willie Mae Stokes Community and Resource Center, we are on the frontlines every day supporting approximately 2,000 students each year and hundreds of families with essential services, education, and critical social support.

From helping students succeed in school to connecting families with resources like food, stability, and care—this work changes lives.

And it only happens because of YOU.

No gift is too small. Every dollar is a step toward stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures.

👉 Give. Share. Support.
