The Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) is opening its Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Waiting List to the public!

Open practices for the Micanopy Athletics Association Fall 2026 season begin NEXT WEEK! Whether your player is returning or trying out for the very first time, we can’t wait to see everyone out on the field.
📅 PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
🥎 SOFTBALL: Mondays and Wednesdays 6-8 PM
⚾️ BASEBALL & T-BALL: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8 PM

📍 IMPORTANT DETAILS:
Practices are FREE and open to all registered AND prospective players!
Please bring proper equipment (bat, glove, cleats, and water).
Need equipment? If you do not have proper equipment, please arrive 15 minutes early. We have a small stock of equipment to loan while supplies last.

The free summer meals program has been extended at five pick up locations! On Monday, July 27 and Monday, August 3, families can pick up a 7-day meal kit with breakfast and lunch for children 18 and younger. Pick up times and locations are:

The Free & Reduced Meal Application Process is OPEN for the 2026-27 School year. Families of students at 27 local schools that are not designated as Community Eligibility Provision (CEP sites) for the upcoming school year will need to meet income guidelines and fill out a family application for their children to receive free or reduced-price meals.
Those non-CEP schools and meal prices are listed below on the flyer.
