On August 29, the Myaamia Heritage Foundation and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma Cultural Resources Office held the inaugural Myaamia Cultural Fest in downtown Kiihkayonki ‘Fort Wayne, Indiana.’ The event brought Myaamia culture, history, language, foodways, and art into the heart of the city, creating a space for Myaamiaki ‘Myaamia people’ and the wider community to learn, connect, and celebrate. This Saturday at the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma’s Fall Gathering, the Myaamia Heritage Foundation Board gave a recap of the inaugural Myaamia Cultural Fest. As a thank-you for their support of the Fest, we gifted our tribal leadership custom MHF jackets!

We are grateful to our tribal leaders for their continued support and commitment to our mission. We look forward to building on the success of the inaugural Myaamia Cultural Fest and continuing this important work together!

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success—from our artists, staff, volunteers, and partners to the 2,000+ visitors who stopped by to learn, create, shop, play games, and celebrate Myaamia culture with us.

A special neewe ‘thank you’ to the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma Cultural Resources Office and our partners at Arts United Taste of the Arts Fort Wayne for helping make this day possible.
