Empowering Families, Together

Last week, we hosted our friends at University of Miami Parent-Child Interaction Therapy - UM PCIT 305 and CIFFTA programs as we reflected on our combined achievements and explored further partnership opportunities to better help our families.

Our research has proven that combining science-backed therapy practices with holistic services like natural helpers improves results in family retention and outcomes. Our work has been successfully repeated and has inspired other programs around the country.

This work wouldn't be possible without the partnerships and trust we have spent years building successfully. Thank you to everyone involved, and thank you to The Children's Trust for helping make moments like this possible.

115 bellies filled with nutritious food. 115 people filled with hope.

Today, our Family Coaches delivered food to families throughout Miami, helping fight food insecurity for those who struggle to afford basic needs. Special thanks to our partners at the Marlins Foundation, Farm Share, FL Blue and Miami-Dade for putting together this incredible Food Distribution Event. And thank you to The Children's Trust for helping make moments like this possible.

If you or your family are in need of food, please prepare to be there on time as they are distributing their supply on a first come, first serve basis.

The Power of Partnership

What a great time with our academic and community partner, University of Miami Mailman Center for Child Development, as we shared and celebrated our work together at the 2026 PCIT International Biennial Convention.

Together, we have co-created Miami’s first integrated PCIT–Natural Helper/Community Health Worker (NH/CHW) model, bringing together PCIT’s evidence-based practice with the trusted relationships and community-based support of NHs/CHWs.

By connecting clinical and home settings, the model strengthens Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for young children ages 2–7 experiencing disruptive behaviors and emotional dysregulation—helping families build skills where they live, learn, play, and thrive.

And the most exciting part? We’re already seeing promising results for families and program outcomes!

This is what happens when community knowledge, academic expertise, and evidence-based practices come together to co-create solutions that work for families. Special thank you to The Children's Trust for your support.

From Little Havana to Homestead!

We had a great time representing ConnectFamilias at the Homestead Senior High School Open House Resource Fair. From connecting with families and organizations, to handing out school supplies and treats to students, we are glad to support families all across Miami-Dade County Government and Miami-Dade County Public Schools. We hope every student has a successful school year!
