🌿 Exploring nature and discovering what Girl Scouts is all about!
We had a wonderful time welcoming future Girl Scouts to The Kampong for a special recruitment event filled with discovery, creativity, and outdoor fun. 💚
During a guided garden tour, participants explored beautiful plants and flowers, picked their favorites, and learned how to create plant presses to take home.
Experiences like these give families a glimpse into the fun, friendships, and hands-on learning opportunities that Girl Scouts has to offer.
A big thank you to The Kampong's amazing staff for sharing their knowledge and helping make the day so special! 🌱

Interested in joining Girl Scouts? We'd love to welcome you to our community. Or if you're already a Girl Scout, bring a friend! https://www.girlscoutsfl.org/en/discover/activities/events.html?q=recruitment

🩺 Girl Scouts got an inside look at careers in healthcare!

Community Troops Girl Scouts from Troops 8058, 2430, and 1874 spent Saturday touring the MDC Medical Simulation Hospital and exploring some of the many opportunities available in the medical and healthcare fields.

Throughout the visit, Girl Scouts learned about EMT and nursing programs, interacted with nursing student AI technology, and explored simulated scenarios that healthcare students may encounter as part of their training.

It was a great opportunity to experience healthcare education up close, ask questions, and discover career paths they may want to explore in the future. 💚

Thank you to the Miami Dade College Medical Simulation Hospital team for welcoming our Girl Scouts and giving them such an engaging day of learning!

🗳️ What better way to learn about democracy than to experience it in action?

Thirty-eight Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts spent the day exploring how government works and discovering ways they can make their voices heard.

They cast ballots in real voting booths, compared Florida’s government with other states, began letters to elected officials about issues they care about, and stepped into the courtroom to argue two landmark Supreme Court cases!

Our Girl Scouts also heard from an inspiring panel of leaders:
⭐ Ana Maria Rodriguez, Florida Senate District 40
⭐ Yolanda Cash Jackson, Shareholder, Becker & Poliakoff
⭐ Adele Valencia, Partner, LSN Law and LSN Partners
⭐ Moderator Christina Boomer Vazquez, Emmy Award-winning journalist with WPLG Local 10 and GSTF Board Member

Thank you to Judge Angelica “Kiki” Zayas, Circuit Court Judge for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, for leading our Case Cracker activity and helping Girl Scouts explore how change can happen through the courts and Congress. We’re also grateful to Miami-Dade County Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis, District 6, for hosting us in Miami Springs and to the Miami-Dade County Supervisor of Elections Office for making the voting process come to life. Finally another thank you to Green Angels Cary G. and Yasma S. for supporting the event throughout the day with setup, check-in, activity stations, and photography.

A day of learning, leadership, and discovering just how powerful your voice can be!

🌴 Meet our very first Tropical Trailblazer! 💚
At G.I.R.L. Fest, Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida launched the Tropical Trailblazer patch, created to recognize women who have blazed new trails, broken barriers, led with vision, served their communities, and helped make the world a better place.
We were proud to recognize Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava as our inaugural Tropical Trailblazer!
Mayor Levine Cava is a proud Girl Scout alum and made history as Miami-Dade County’s first woman mayor. Her decades of public and community service offer Girl Scouts a local example of leadership and civic engagement.
Through the Tropical Trailblazer patch, we look forward to introducing Girl Scouts to women in our own community whose stories can inspire them to dream big, lead boldly, and blaze trails of their own. 🌟
