From community roots to lasting progress. 🌱💚
Fifteen years ago, Urban Health Partnerships began with a belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life. Today, that belief has grown into a movement, and this past Saturday at Harmonies for Health, we got to celebrate it together.
We were especially honored to receive a proclamation from Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, presented by Michelle Johnson of the Office of the Mayor, recognizing UHP's 15 years of impact across South Florida. It was a moment we'll carry with us for a long time.
As we mark 15 years of UHP, we're overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone who made this night possible. To the community members who came out, gave, and celebrated with us. To our partners and connectors who have stood beside us year after year. To our incredible UHP team and board members, whose dedication built this organization into what it is today.
To our co-founders, Anamarie Ferreira De Melo and Isabel Rovira, who had the vision fifteen years ago to believe South Florida deserved healthier, more connected neighborhoods. And to our fearless CEO/Executive Director, Dr. Andrea Iglesias, whose leadership has carried that vision into every corner of this work.
We were proud to present our first-ever Partners for Change Awards this year, honoring Pat Morris of the Office of the Mayor of Daniella Levine Cava, Healthy Little Havana, and Anthony Olivieri of FHEED LLC, along with Earline Hayes of Florida Impact, recipient of the inaugural Community Voice Award. Each of them represents what it means to show up for this community, year after year.
