The celebration of Juneteenth is a celebration that represents the end of Slavery. A time when we as a people did not have the autonomy over our bodies to determine what was best for our health. At one of the Juneteenth celebrations, our Auxilary Vice President Pam Shuler had a chance to educate our community on the importance of taking care of themselves. This was made possible through our partnership with Good Health WINs.

PTSD Awareness Day June 27……

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an invisible battle that many people fight every day. It can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. Healing isn’t always easy, and everyone’s journey looks different.

Today, let’s choose compassion over judgment, understanding over assumptions, and support over silence. A kind word, a listening ear, or simply reminding someone they are not alone can make a world of difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling, remember: It’s OK to ask for help. It’s OK to take your time. And most importantly, it’s OK NOT to be OK. 💙

Together, we can break the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage healing, hope, and resilience.
