Last night was a beautiful celebration of excellence, perseverance, and promise as the Pedro & John DeBrito Foundation awarded scholarships to an outstanding group of students.

Each recipient represents the very best of what the future holds—young leaders who have worked hard, served their communities, and remained committed to their educational goals. We are incredibly proud to invest in their dreams and honored to be a small part of their journey.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 scholarship recipients! May you continue to pursue your purpose with courage, integrity, and determination. We can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.

A heartfelt thank you to our supporters, donors, volunteers, families, and everyone who joined us this evening. Your generosity makes these opportunities possible and helps ensure that the legacy of Pedro and John DeBrito continues to inspire and impact future generations.

The Pedro & John DeBrito Memorial Scholarship Foundation is proud to announce the Book Award scholarship Application for 2026-2027 school year.

We continue to be grateful and blessed that we are able to give out these scholarship awards.
This year we will honor 5 Book awards including one for a Cape Verdean descendant graduating Senior.
they are as follows:

4- $1000.00
1-Cape Verdean descent- $1500.00

The criteria for the General application is that the student is a graduating Senior attending college/University or other institution of higher learning for the Fall of 2026. The applicant must have attained a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0

The criteria for the Cape Verdean scholarship is that the student is a high school senior who is of CAPE VERDEAN descent along with the above criteria.

We have a Scholarship Selection Committee ready to review all eligible applicants. They are very excited to help you all fulfill your dreams.
