Zoe’s Dolls is a nonprofit empowering girls through representation, self-esteem, and community service. Thus this was the start of Zoe's Dolls.

Founded by Zoe Terry, the organization distributes dolls of color and leads empowerment initiatives nationwide. Zoe's Dolls collect new, unwrapped dolls of color to donate to little girls at Christmas time. Zoe's Dolls was started by then 5 year old Zoe Terry for two reasons. When Zoe was smaller her mother would encourage her to give away one of her toys at Christmas. During that time Zoe was als

o being bullied at school because she looked different from everyone in her class. Zoe told her mother that she did not want to give away one of her toys anymore, she stated that she wanted to start a company called Zoe's Dolls. Zoe wanted little girls to know that their image is beautiful no matter what other people say. Zoe thought that a good way to do that was to give dolls to little girls that were reflective of their beautiful image! Zoe's Dolls is currently working on a line of dolls.

Big news for Zoe’s Dolls! 💖

We are incredibly honored to receive funding from the Green Family Foundation.

This investment is more than a grant. It’s an investment in young Black girls, their confidence, their dreams, and their futures. Because of this support, we’ll be able to expand programs that empower girls through representation, leadership, mentorship, and opportunity.

To everyone who has believed in our mission over the years, thank you. Every doll distributed, every workshop hosted, and every girl reminded of her worth has been possible because of a community that believes representation changes lives.

We are deeply grateful to the Green Family Foundation for believing in our vision and investing in the next generation of leaders. We can’t wait to continue building brighter futures, one girl, one voice, and endless possibilities. 💗

One week down. 🩷
This week I wrapped up my first week as a summer intern with Points of Light Points of Light in Washington, D.C., and it feels like such a full-circle moment.

When I was 11 years old, I had the honor of speaking at the Points of Light Conference as the youngest person on a panel of incredible changemakers. Back then, I was just a little girl sharing the story of Zoe’s Dolls and dreaming about making a difference.

Now, years later, I’m back, not as a speaker, but as an intern, learning from the very organization that inspired me all those years ago.

My first week was unforgettable. I jumped right into the Social Impact Conference, helping welcome attendees and board members, facilitating icebreakers, supporting conference events, and even sitting with the CEO as she prepared for her opening keynote. Every day challenged me to learn, listen, and grow.

It’s amazing how life comes full circle. What started as a 5-year-old girl who simply wanted every little girl to have a doll that looked like her has grown into opportunities I always believed and imagined would happen.

I’m so grateful to the Points of Light team for welcoming me and for allowing me to learn from people who are creating meaningful change around the world.

Here’s to the rest of the summer. I’m excited to keep learning, serving, and growing. ✨

Honored and humbled to be selected for the 2026 TRIIBE (TRIBE) 100, the definitive global list recognizing nonprofit founders under 30 who are making an impact in communities around the world.

What started as a 5-year-old girl’s vision to empower girls who looked like her through dolls has grown into a movement that has empowered thousands of girls through representation, service, and leadership.

I’m grateful to everyone who has supported the Zoe’s Dolls journey over the years. This recognition belongs to our volunteers, partners, donors, and the incredible young people we serve.

I look forward to connecting and collaborating with fellow changemakers through TRIIBE as we continue creating positive impact in our communities.

This Memorial Day, we honor the nearly 200,000 Black soldiers who served in the Union Army during the Civil War.

Some were born free. Others escaped slavery and enlisted believing their service could help secure freedom, citizenship, and a better future for generations to come.

They fought through unequal pay, harsh conditions, and some of the most dangerous assignments of the war — yet they still served with courage and conviction.

Today, we remember the Black soldiers who sacrificed, fought for liberation, and never made it home. Their legacy lives on through every generation that continues to push freedom forward. ❤️🖤💚

This is no April Fool’s.

Advocacy for Black women and girls is too often treated as a niche or political issue rather than than a comparable, urgent cause like cancer, homelessness, or environmental issues, resulting in systemic underfunding and erasure.

Meanwhile, research shows that less than 0.5% of global foundation funding is directed toward Black women and girls.

Let that sit.

While other issues receive widespread attention and investment, the voices, needs, and futures of Black women and girls continue to be underfunded, overlooked, and erased.

This is not a niche issue—
it’s an urgent crisis.

At Zoe’s Dolls, we are actively working to change that through programs that build confidence, leadership, and real opportunity for the next generation.

We don’t operate from scarcity.
We challenge it.
