In 2007-2008, our church had 150 youth members and of the population 4% were eligible for college in fall 2007 or spring 2008. Since most of our youth come from fi
rst generation, low income families, it is critical for the church to play a major role in ensuring that these students succeed at the community college and/ or university level. Because of this, we have created a program to provide guidance in selecting the right college, filling out their college applications, searching for scholarships, as well as providing book scholarships to the prospective college students.
