Thank you Dr. Sylvia Earle and your Mission Blue team for helping us raise awareness about the Tropical Pacific Sea of Peru Hope Spot. Together we continue to work towards obtaining official designation as a marine protected area of this unique and incredible part of the ocean. Please share and spread the word. We need your help in letting go the world know about this hidden jewel.

Keep Goliath groupers protected. The time is now to submit your comments to FWC to show your support. We should not allow for a limited number of the species to be fished. This is a slow growing species that is stilll recovering from the brink of extinction in Florida waters.

Good news from Peru about the creation of the marine protected area Tropical Pacific Sea of Peru. Congress approves the initiative to protect the Tropical Pacific Sea of Peru. Efforts continue in Peru to push for the protection of the southernmost limit of the Eastern Tropical Pacific, a region rich in biodiversity and unique marine environment. This area is a Hope Spot, a magic place where whales, dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, sea lions and a myriad of fish and invertebrates exist. Our organization Follow EGS in partnership with key Peruvian players, partners and many others have been advocating and engaging the government to give official protection to this unique area. We are not there yet, but we are getting closer.

As Florida recovers from the devastating effects of hurricane Irma, the clock continues to tick for Goliath groupers. Please take a few moments to watch this video to learn what you can do to protect this vulnerable species. I am glad I had the chance to chance to join my friends Deb Castellana and Joakim Odelberg in one of the fabulous dives with these gentle giants. Please help us protect them.

Great news. Whale sharks are now protected by law. It's about time but nevertheless these are great news.

La mejor noticia del 2017!! Perú ahora protege al tiburon ballena (Rhincodon typus). Se prohíbe su extracción, desembarque, transporte, retención, transformación y comercialización, si es capturado incidentalmente debe ser liberado sin ser dañado.
