In celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the University of Miami and the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami – a program honoring the University's remarkable beginnings and the spirit that has shaped its first century.

Jake Runestad's The Secret of the Sea anchors a program that also includes works by University of Miami faculty composer Shawn Crouch and distinguished alumnus Cristian Grases stand alongside music by Ēriks Ešenvalds, Irving Berlin, Mondonville, Atognini, and others – repertoire that spans centuries and styles, reflecting Frost's expansive artistic reach.

Concerts are family friendly. Free onsite parking. Ticket includes post-concert artist reception and curated art exhibit featuring MDCPS artists.

We are honored that Adolphus Hailstork will be joining us this Sunday for Essence of America: Epstein/Wang/Larsen Trio. They will be performing his piece “Piano Trio.”

With composer Adolphus Hailstork

Pianist Daniel Epstein, violinist Xiao Wang, and cellist Ben Larsen, explore the roots, diversity, and potential of America. Join them for the Florida premiere of the acclaimed “Piano Trio” by African American composer Adolphus Hailstork, introduced by the composer himself!

The first movement commemorates the Holocaust, just days before International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Enjoy the vibrant work “Rodeo” by Korean composer Nicky Sohn. Then, celebrate the evolution of America with Antonín Dvořák’s “Trio,” a classic work, inspired by his years in New York City, that fuses his Czech heritage with Native American and African American folk themes.

MMC's annual "Starburst Concert" creates magic with renowned pianists Paul Posnak and Anita Castiglione, joined by two remarkable young vocalists studying at UM Frost School of Music and now bursting forth in their musical careers.

Soprano Zaryah Gourgel, who placed first in the UM Frost School's Mirabell Palace program in Salzburg, is studying in their Classical Vocal Performance Master's Program. Frost undergraduate tenor Brandon Flores has performed with Miami Beach Classical Music Festival, Frost School operas, and at Brevard Music Center.

For this performance, they are planning an audience-friendly program that includes classic arias by Mozart and Verdi, popular show tunes and modern works by Lerner and Lowe, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim – plus Zarzuela! Come hear them now, then follow their careers!
After the concert join us for the Student Art Gallery featuring works from Miami Arts Studio 6-12 at Zelda Glazer.
