Last night hosted a get-together for spinal cord injuries and others to hang out. We had some mentoring, shared some laughs, had some bites, and all together had a great time bonding. As a foundation we wanted to take part in this event that unites some of the SCI community. We were able (no pun intended) to sponsor the cost of food and beverages for the event. We hope to see you at the next one!

LD Flexing on all of us! πŸ’ͺ🏽

While there is no SCI cure at the moment, many individuals regain some level of function, strength, and sensation through intensive, long-term therapy. Even with complete injuries, patients can regain levels of motor function below the injury site. For instance, a C4 injury regaining function to the level of a C6. Leduar is using the parallel bars to do dips with his wheelchair attached, strengthening his triceps primary as well as his shoulders, chest, and back. WE SEE YOU!! πŸ‘€

*REMEMBER; EVERY SCI INJURY IS DIFFERENT

One of the biggest misconceptions about why quadriplegics need physical therapy is simply to walk again. Physical therapy helps us to become more independent and participate in everyday activities, including sports. Walking again one day may be a goal but it is not the only goal.

Leduar, our latest physical therapy grant recipient, is an athlete who plays wheelchair rugby, has done marathons, fitness competitions, and here he is trying out archery.

Wings for Life World Run 2026 πŸͺ½

Sunday, May 10, 2026 is The Wings for Life World Run. Is this another 5k or marathon for the new generation of runners? NO❗️For the first time we've created a team and will be running, walking, rolling at Tamiami Park. You can join us or participate from wherever you want with the app. *LINK IN BIO

This race is unique. Everyone starts at the same time around the world,🌏 running together against the Catcher Car. 100% of all entry fees and donations go directly to research and help find a cure for spinal cord injury.

The moving finish line, the Catcher Car, begins its pursuit 30 minutes after the start, passing runners and wheelchair users one after the other until everyone has been caught.
