AQUA Family - Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, a day that we set aside each year to honor and remember our Trans brothers, sisters, and siblings who we have lost to anti-trans violence. Since its founding in 1999, Transgender people continue to suffer the highest levels of violence and bigotry of any other group, especially Black transwomen and transfemmes.

In 2022 alone, AT LEAST 32 Trans people have been killed in the US. But this day is not about reducing the lives of our friends and loved ones to numbers and statistics – it is about remembering them as they were: beautiful, vibrant, strong, LOVED.

Today we honor and from our own Florida communities.

Consider attending a vigil to honor the lives of those we have lost and find out how you can fight back against anti-trans bigotry and violence.

Miami-Dade: Miami's tenth annual Transgender Day of Remembrance & Resilience (TDOR&R) will take place at 6PM on Sunday, November 20th, 2022 in person at the newly-named Scott Galvin Community Center!

Happy National Coming Out Day! This day acts as a reminder that one of our most basic tools is the power of coming out. One out of every two Americans has someone close to them who is gay or le***an. For transgender people, that number is only one in 10.

Coming out - whether it is as le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r or allied - STILL MATTERS. When people know someone who is LGBTQ, they are far more likely to support equality under the law. Beyond that, our stories can be powerful to each other.

We are here to celebrate you and support you wherever you are on your coming out journey!
