Today, we have grown to become the one of the most prominent fraternities on campus. Sammy at FIU is truly the best in every aspect that makes a fraternity. Whether it is athletics, brotherhood, campus involvement, philanthropy, or social life, Sigma Alpha Mu has proven and continues to be the most dominating overall. en. SPORTS
Sigma Alpha Mu currently has become the fraternity to beat in all intramural sports. We have won championships in many different sports along with six Intramural Sports Cups in a row, from the year 2000 to 2006. No other fraternity has been able to hold on to a title such as this for so many years. BROTHERHOOD
We are also proud to say that we are by far the most diverse fraternity at FIU. Some of us are your typical party goers, sporty athletes, academic over achievers, or average Joes coming from all different backgrounds of life. A wide spectrum of people all blended into one successful organization. With all this diversity, we have the tightest knit group of men of all fraternities at FIU. We hold brotherhood events such as paintball, basketball and football tournaments, fishing trips, an always-imitated-but-never-duplicated weekend long camping trip at Peace River, and many more. After almost 20 years of brotherhood at FIU, we still keep good relations with our alumni brothers. In 2007 and 2008 we won the IFC Best Alumni Relations and Best Philantrophy. CAMPUS INVOLEMENT
All Sammy brothers at FIU take great pride in our campus involvement. Our brothers have a wide spectrum of majors and are involved in a wide variety of organizations on campus, from the international medical fraternity to business fraternities, and from Panther Rage to SGA (Student Government Association). Sigma Alpha Mu has had more members be the President of SGA than any other fraternity or sorority on campus and it all started in our first year at FIU. Sigma Alpha Mu has had 15 SGA Presidents proving the fact that Sammy Governs All. PHILANTHROPY
Sigma Alpha Mu at FIU hosts many philanthropic events that raise money for Alzheimer’s Association. A few of our events would be our annual golf tournament and our gentlemen auction called "The Bachelor." Along with our own events, our brothers participate in other philanthropic and community service events hosted by other organizations at FIU such as Relay-4-Life and Dance Marathon. SOCIAL LIFE
Finally, Sammies are among the most social men around campus. We are always one of the fraternities that all sororities want to mix with and do homecoming with. Sammy's also host some of the most infamous tailgates at FIU where all organizations throughout FIU come to enjoy such as our overnight tailgate. We also host various parties that the entire FIU community knows about such as our infamous Sammy Foam Party every summer, our Toga Party and much more.
