Offering a comprehensive of wrap around supprots designed to bridge the gap to self-sufficiency for low/moderate-income and in crisis families to restore dignity and hope to those in need. Bridge to Hope provides basic needs such as fresh food, clothing, household items and school supplies in additional to supportive programs that strengthen the family such as mentoring, literacy, financial literacy, and life skills.

Food affects mood and even brain functioning. Sending kids to school having eaten a breakfast made from real food instead of highly processed, high-sugar, pseudo-food can improve learning, mood, attention, and their chances of succeeding in the classroom.

That’s one reason Bridge To Hope pays close attention not only to whether families receive food, but to the quality and nutritional value of the food we provide. Filling hungry bellies matters. But helping families put balanced, nourishing food on the table matters too. 💜

In 1856, Henry David Thoreau wrote to his friend:

“O how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it—for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.”

What a thought.

If we stop and look, we are surrounded by riches that never show up on a bank statement:

The people we love.
The bird tapping on the window.
Trees moving in the wind.
Music.
Friendship.
Another morning.
Another sunset.
Another smile from someone we love.

The question is whether we slow down long enough to notice them. To count them. To enjoy them.

And maybe share a little of that joy with somebody else.

That may be the richest life of all.

Give Miami Day is coming in November, and we’re glad to be part of it. It’s also a good time to share the many ways Bridge To Hope helps our neighbors every day.

Most people know us because of food.

Every week, families come to us for fresh groceries, and we deliver to neighbors who can’t get to the pantry.

But food is only part of the work.

We also offer health screenings and other vital support for families in need.

Our Digital Lab provides computers, fast internet and hands-on help learning how to use them.

And through our free long-term laptop loaner program, neighbors can apply for jobs, take English classes, make medical appointments, pay bills or help their children with homework from home.

That help matters, especially now.

Across Miami-Dade, more families are turning to food pantries as rent, groceries, transportation and utilities take bigger bites out of household budgets.

What makes Bridge To Hope different is how these services work together: food, health, technology and practical support. Families rarely struggle with just one thing at a time.

On Give Miami Day, we’ll join nonprofits across Miami-Dade in celebrating the work being done throughout our community. We’re grateful to be part of it—and for the chance to show how Bridge To Hope helps families through a crisis, regain stability and build a brighter future. 💜

Miami has been getting absolutely hammered with rain lately, but rain or shine, Bridge To Hope is there.

Three days a week, every week, we open our pantry and serve our neighbors. And for those who aren't physically able to get to us, we make deliveries too.

Good weather, bad weather, blazing sun, sideways rain—it really doesn’t matter. People are counting on us.

And they know we’ll be there, and that we care; and that makes all the difference.

It’s a big part of why families trust Bridge To Hope. We keep showing up, week after week, in good times and bad, because that’s what good neighbors do.

Because Love Does.

Hey, Hope Hero! Please don’t think of us as just a food pantry!

We’re also a Digital Bridge to new opportunities for families and individuals in need.

Case in point: After many months of hard work, and thanks to a generous grant from the State of Florida and FloridaCommerce, we are putting the finishing touches on the build out of the Bridge To Hope Digital Lab.

We hope you share our excitement about this new facility.

Because it will be a one-of-a-kind multipurpose space in South Dade, designed to help seniors, young adults, job-seeking professionals, single parents, and others, connect with the advanced resources they need to thrive.

At this new Digital Lab, they will be trained on beginning, intermediate and advanced computer skills, enjoy blazing fast internet access (which means fast access to the social services they depend on), and they’ll be able to make use of a variety of digital devices, multipurpose spaces on two levels, and a host of rich resources right on the premises.

This remarkable space will help ensure that all South Dade residents have the tools and guidance they need to keep pace with a rapidly changing world.

The path to their prosperity will begin here, thanks to FloridaCommerce.

Congratulations to all of our August registrants in our Free Long-term Laptop Loaner Program.

We absolutely love to see their beaming faces. But some can hardly believe that this is real until they’re handed their powerful new laptop.

So yes! It’s real! Thanks to all our Hope Heroes (Including you!), and to the generous financial support of the State of Florida, and to the hard work of all our staff.

After distributing more than 400 laptops so far, the program is winding down. But we're not done yet!

The beautiful people you see in these slides can now more fully participate in the technological transformation re-shaping all aspects of our society. They will no longer be on the margins, they now have the means to grow, to participate, to contribute, to share their gifts with others, and in that way, let hope for a brighter tomorrow ripple ever outwards, embracing ever more people.

Labor Day as a national celebration was born on June 28, 1894, when President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday in September of each year a national holiday.

In 1909, by a resolution of the American Federation of Labor convention, the Sunday preceding Labor Day was declared, “Labor Sunday”; a day dedicated to the contemplation of the spiritual significance of the people whose hard work built the nation and world we love and live in.

Their contribution is massive. 💜

As stated in the U.S. Department of Labor’s website:

“American labor has raised the nation’s standard of living and contributed to the greatest production the world has ever known and the labor movement has brought us closer to the realization of our traditional ideals of economic and political democracy. It is appropriate, therefore, that the nation pays tribute on Labor Day to the creator of so much of the nation's strength, freedom, and leadership – the American worker.”

Hey, Hope Hero! Great news! We're proud (and quite over the moon) to announce that Bridge To Hope is among the 13 South Dade nonprofits awarded $75,000 to continue funding their vital missions.

We are very thankful for Amazon and Angelica Santibanez, for their $1M investment in South Dade; for The Miami Foundation and Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, for their tireless leadership and for being such powerful advocates for South Dade nonprofits (and nonprofits everywhere in our County); for Miami-Dade College, for their work in education and hosting this momentous event.

And, of course, we're thankful for all the other 11—amazing, remarkable, extraordinary—nonprofits doing such important work to keep our community strong:
