🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP — 4 DOGS NEED US 💔🐾

Yesterday, Joy and Love Rescue stepped in to help 4 dogs who have suffered more than any animal ever should.

💔 Our 8-month-old Doodle/Golden mix weighs ONLY 28 lbs. He is severely malnourished, filled with parasites and anemic. His little body has been fighting just to survive.

💔 Our Pit Bull/Bully girl weighs 41 lbs. We initially feared she was pregnant, but thankfully she is NOT. Unfortunately, she is also suffering from a heavy parasite burden and retained stool after going without proper nutrition.

🐶 We also took in an English Bulldog puppy and a Frenchie, both needing veterinary care, including care for cherry eyes.

🙏 Thankfully, their heartworm tests came back NEGATIVE!

But their journey is just beginning.

Between bloodwork, medications, deworming, vaccines, treatment for anemia, eye care, follow-ups and etc

They’ve already experienced enough hunger, fear and neglect. Now it’s our turn to show them what it feels like to be safe, cared for and loved.

Toby, formerly known as Boeing, was rescued from Miami-Dade Animal Services in 2023. His mom, Elis, recently moved to Ocala in hopes of a better life, but Toby is now facing a serious medical emergency.

Remember this handsome boy we recently shared? Well, we have an update! 🥹❤️
After being rescued, he was taken to the veterinarian, where he was found to have a severe ear infection. Thankfully, he is now safe in a loving foster home, receiving the care and attention he deserves.
But his journey isn’t over yet. He’s still waiting for a family to call his own! 🏡
This gorgeous Great Pyrenees deserves a forever home where he can be loved, spoiled, and treated like family for the rest of his life.
His foster home is only a temporary stop. We’re hoping someone out there will open their heart and give him the happy ending he deserves. ❤️

Joy and Love Rescue is currently going through an extremely difficult time financially. Our funds are critically low, but we still have dogs depending on us every single day. ❤️‍🩹🐾

🏡 PAID FOSTER PROGRAM

We currently have 9 dogs in paid foster homes:

Luna • Walker • Bambi • Noah • Midnight • Star • Milo • Megan • Nala

Each foster receives $350/month, costing the rescue $3,150 every month.

This program allows our dogs to live in a real HOME while waiting to be adopted instead of spending nearly their entire day in a boarding cage. They receive love and attention, learn what being part of a family feels like, and we receive photos and videos that help us find their forever homes. ❤️

🐶 DOGS CURRENTLY IN BOARDING

Amos & Smokey are in a cage-free, home-style boarding environment at $207 each per week — $414/week.

Belle, France & Snow are also in boarding at $100 each per week — $300/week.

Between paid fosters and boarding, the rescue is spending approximately $6,200+ every month just to keep these 14 dogs safely housed.

That does NOT include food, veterinary care, medications, supplies or emergencies.

💔 We cannot sustain these expenses without help.

Every donation matters. Whether it’s $5, $20, $100 or more, it helps us continue giving these dogs a safe and comfortable place to stay while we search for their forever families.

You do NOT have to be a paid foster to help. In fact, volunteer fosters are one of the biggest ways you can support us right now. Every dog placed in a volunteer foster home saves the rescue hundreds of dollars AND gives that dog the love and comfort of a real home.

Our goal is not to keep dogs in boarding. Our goal is to get them OUT of boarding and INTO loving foster or forever homes.

Our sweet Pluto had to be taken to the vet after his foster mom noticed him having a scary choking-like cough. 😢 During his visit, they also discovered that he has an ear infection.

The vet recommended X-rays, antibiotics, ear treatment, and possible sedation, bringing his medical expenses to approximately $650.

Thankfully, his foster mom Brittany hasn’t heard him coughing as much today, but now we have another concern — Pluto’s appetite has significantly decreased. He’s even turning down foods he would normally eat and was trying to eat weeds while outside. 💔

Brittany has been absolutely AMAZING with our babies. She fostered Peter (now Honcho) and loved him so much that she officially ADOPTED HIM! 🥹❤️ She continues to foster Pluto and has gone above and beyond to make sure he is safe, loved, and cared for.

Now we need to help her help Pluto. 🙏🏼

Meet Benjy, a sweet almost 2-year-old Corgi who urgently needs a safe place to go. 💔🐾

Benjy’s owner is currently going through an extremely difficult time. She is battling breast cancer and beginning radiation treatments soon, while also having to move following a divorce. Unfortunately, the place where she will be staying does not allow dogs, and she has to move tomorrow.

She loves Benjy dearly and is desperately trying to avoid having to surrender him to a shelter. We are sharing his story in hopes that someone can step up to foster him or possibly give him a forever home. 🙏🏼

Benjy is:

❤️ Very loving and affectionate
🐕 Friendly with people and other dogs
🏡 Adapts well to changes

🐾❤️ HUNTER UPDATE ❤️🐾

Today Hunter had a follow-up appointment with his primary veterinarian and repeated bloodwork. We are beyond relieved to share some AMAZING news!

Hunter has NO masses in his spleen or liver. After additional testing and evaluations, it appears that the antibiotics prescribed by VEG Emergency Hospital are helping significantly, and his white blood cell count is improving quickly.

Unfortunately, Hunter was initially misdiagnosed by Green Light Animal Hospital in Orlando which is horrible what they said. The news that was received at that time was absolutely devastating, and Andrea and Jesus truly felt like their world was falling apart. Thankfully, further diagnostics and follow-up care have shown a much more hopeful picture.

Hunter is slowly returning to his normal self, and we couldn’t be more grateful. He is in great hands, responding well to treatment, and we are all incredibly relieved. Most importantly, Hunter has a long life ahead of him, and for that we thank God every day. 🙏❤️

While we are celebrating this positive progress, the road to getting answers has come with thousands of dollars in emergency visits, diagnostics, bloodwork, ultrasounds, X-rays, medications, and follow-up care.
