The Miami Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department in partnership with the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, the Miami Dolphins Special Teams and Barry University will be hosting a 9/11 Service and Remembrance Day as an opportunity for us to give back.

Join us on Saturday, September 10 at Tropical Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to remember those who have fallen and participate in projects such as planting, mulching, landscaping, removing litter and other park beautification activities. Location and registration information is as follows:

DeNito's Ride for Kids helps kids with disabilities by purchasing specially designed bicycles for them. DeNito's Ride for Kids has an upcoming event May 15th and could use a few volunteers. Please check the link below for available positions.

-This Sunday from 7:30am to 1pm.
-Working a rest stop for cyclists.
-Making drinks, and preparing fruits and sandwiches.

Next Sunday, September 20th at Markham Park.

This one is small, on a week day and only room for one more. I signed up for Outstanding Orchards Vizcaya on September 18th at 9am. Im going to be helping with revitalizing the orchid garden at Vizcaya. Come see a part of Vizcaya few people get to see and be a part of beautifying a significant part of South Florida's history. Let me know if you're interested in helping.
