The Fighting Rose (stomach Cancer Awareness)

The Fighting Rose (stomach Cancer Awareness) This page is for educating, supporting and spreading awareness about gastric cancer. Giving a voice I'll let you know why I started this journey.

Gastric cancer, commonly referred to as stomach cancer, can develop in any part of the stomach and may spread throughout the stomach and to other organs; particularly the esophagus, lungs, lymph nodes, and the liver. Stomach cancer causes about 800,000 deaths worldwide per year. So now that you have some idea what gastric is and what it can do along with how many can be affected. My mother Rose Ma

rie Smith was diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer. Not knowing what was in store we kept our faith strong. Praying that she could and would over come this battle. We learned we caught it to late. She went through chemotherapy and radiation just to give her kids and grandkids time to make memories. That's exactly what we did. I was shown a world I never knew existed. A world of people with such beautiful smiles and strength of a warrior. I call them fighters and so many have let me into their lives. I want to give so many a voice because so many have something to say. There is so much to learn when it comes to gastric cancer but it's not being discussed. The Fighting Rose is going to be part of a movement that has started. I couldn't save my mother but maybe through awareness I could help save others. We will be there for others like others were there for my family and I.

I haven’t been on here through The Fighting Rose in so long but I continue to see people like and follow. I appreciate you all so much. I think it’s time I come back and help spread awareness and stories of those that are fighters, survivors and caregivers.

I came across all these pill bottles while throwing stuff away today. Not sure why I kept these. Maybe I felt some weird comfort. These belonged to my Mom. She had to take these every day just to deal with living life as a person with cancer. We can sit here and share those long dragged out, if you support cancer post all day. It Doesn't really help and doesn't help those that have no idea what the person fighting has to go through. Along with what there family and friends have to endure. Here is a small look into the life of a person living with cancer. This is not how any of us should have to live. Even though I miss her every freaking day. I'm happy she doesn't have to live like this anymore.

I'm truly sorry. How are you guys?

My she rest in peace. She survived 9/11 which is amazing. I'm sure she battled stomach caner with everything she had. Stomach cancer needs to be looked at and talked about more.

Marcy Borders, the woman who became known as the “Dust Lady” from the iconic 9/11 image taken of her, dazed and covered in ash, after the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed, has died of stomach cancer, according to her family. She was 42.

Hey everyone I don't know this young lady but her dad was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I know first hand how tough it is for a child to their parent sick. I know it's not stomach cancer related but we should always support each in any way. Let's help Kat give her Dad a special gift. Please and Thank you

Hello everyone,
I've missed you all. I didn't forget about just been trying to get myself in a good place. A lot of ups and downs but that's really no excuse to stay away from those that have been there for me in my darkest days and that's all of you. Well getting back into the swing of things means finally creating the website for The Fighting Rose. I want you all to understand everything that is done is done by yours truly (Me) so at times I get into a funk, and start to miss my mom. So I started staying away from things that remind me of her. Afraid if I don't I'll drive myself crazy, but that's not fair to you or what I promised my mom. That I will help the stomach cancer community spread awareness. I will help make the voices louder. I hope you guys are doing well. So get ready for all my many post and asking you all if I can share your voice to the world.

Caregivers are very important as well

Caregiving is one of the most important ways we show love to those important to us. There is no big paycheck, medal or award for being a cancer caregiver, but it's what we do for love.
