Hello fellow Dullsters and Dullettes.
I finally have something (hopefully) worthy of sharing, and I actually caught it on camera!
Not unlike the time my phone fell out of my back pocket into a toilet and landed perfectly across the bowl, avoiding the water entirely. Unfortunately, since the phone and the camera were the same object, I was unable to document that miracle. But that’s a different story.
A few days ago, I bought a large box of cherries and sorted them by ripeness. I threw away about five cherries right away, then divided the rest into three batches. I ate the first batch two days ago, the second yesterday, and today I went to wash the final batch—the least ripe when purchased.
To my surprise, I found around seven spoiled cherries and this monstrosity. ChatGPT informed me that it was a fairly impressive case of mold and advised me to discard the entire remaining batch, which I reluctantly did, despite several cherries appearing perfectly fine.
What fascinated me was that these three cherries were firmly bound together by this strange white silky growth, almost as if nature had decided to invent cherry Velcro.
So, is this worthy of sharing here?
Have any of you ever seen mold like this? Would you also have thrown away the seemingly edible cherries from the same batch? And, most importantly, will you forgive the absence of a banana for scale?
