My mission is for this foundation to provide many opportunities for children that are not fortunate enough to be involved in extracurricular activities of their choice. I am currently working to organize and start a nonprofit organization called The Wheeler Kid Foundation so that I can give back to the children in the community and bring the awareness of “CHOICE”. I wasn’t given a choice. My self
and other children in the community were always subject to what was available at the time, which caused us to be in the wrong places. There is so much talent present in the lower class neighborhoods that go unnoticed because parents have financial hardships or do not have the time to invest to be more involved, and because of this the children are limited to who and what they can explore. I want to create programs so they can have choices between the streets and expressing themselves in a positive manner, rather it’s through sports, dance, art, or music. They need to know that every action they take in life is based on the choices they make. But when the choices are limited from 1 to none, it makes it difficult for our children to choose wisely. They automatically choose what’s available which is more likely to be the streets. Now that I am in a position where I can help and use my talent and knowledge to give back to the community I would like to start with The Wheeler Kid Foundation. Someone in the community helped me become the strong, well-rounded woman I am today and now I want to help as many as I can by developing extracurricular activities throughout the community to keep them involved and to give them a choice in life. I want to give children a bit of hope that there are people in their community that care about their dreams and are willing to help them become successful. This program will help keep children off the streets in unsafe environments. Our goal as a foundation is to analyze, strategize and plan ways to raise money so that we can put our vision into action. We are building a team with the same vision and passion that I have to help our community. We are reaching out to everyone that we know and believe has the same passion to save the youth as we do. We are in great need of your support to help us start The Wheeler Kid Foundation!
