We’re honored to welcome Special Guest Contramestre Lucas of Grupo Nzinga Salvador .salvador!

CM Lucas is a percussionist, art educator, and Humanities student at the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (UNILAB). He brings with him deep knowledge, artistry, and dedication to the traditions of Capoeira Angola.

9/12-9/13 Coming Soon to Atlanta !! Save the Date !! Angoleiro Joseph began his Capoeira Angola journey in 1995 in Oakland, California, training with Mestre Themba Mashama. In 1998, he moved to Atlanta, where he continued his training with F**A under the guidance of Mestre Cobra Mansa. Between 2011 and 2014, he took a break from Capoeira to focus on his family and his career. In 2015, together with his wife, Virginia, he founded Mosaic, a non-profit organization that reflects the same spirit of community and resilience that Capoeira taught him. In 2025, he rediscovered his sense of family by joining the Aluandé group under the guidance of Mestra Gegê and Mestre Célio—bringing with him the experience, family values, and sense of community that have shaped his path.

Angoleiro Joseph iniciou sua jornada na Capoeira Angola em 1995, em Oakland, Califórnia, treinando com o Mestre Themba Mashama. Em 1998, mudou-se para Atlanta, onde continuou seus aprendizados com a F**A sob a orientação do Mestre Cobra Mansa. Entre 2011 e 2014 Ele deu uma pausa na Capoeira para cuidar da família e de sua carreia.Em 2015, junto com sua esposa Virginia, fundou a Mosaic, uma organização sem fins lucrativos que reflete o mesmo espírito de comunidade e resistência que a Capoeira lhe ensinou. Em 2025 redescobriu o senso de família ao se unir ao grupo Aluande sob a orientação da Mestra Gegê e do Mestre Célio— trazendo consigo a experiência, o valor da família e o senso de comunidade que sempre moldaram deu caminho.
