Last night was more than an extraordinary evening—it was a powerful reminder of what happens when the worlds of sports, media, business, and philanthropy come together with one shared purpose: to find cures for paralysis, spinal cord and brain injuries, and neurological diseases and disorders.

Thank you to our Legends, honorees, donors, sponsors, partners, longtime supporters, friends, and everyone who made this evening possible, including our Presenting Sponsors, Tudor Group and the Mack Family, and Red Carpet Sponsor Christine E. Lynn.

For 41 years, we have stood together with The Buoniconti Fund and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, helping turn hope into progress and possibility into action.

And last night, that commitment made an extraordinary impact—raising millions to accelerate groundbreaking research and advance treatments.

We also celebrated a remarkable new chapter with the announcement of a $1 million gift from Ray Chambers and the MCJ Amelior Foundation, together with Founding Dinner Chair Jack Schneider, to establish the Marc A. Buoniconti Drug Discovery Program.

To everyone who made last night possible: thank you for believing in the mission, investing in the science, and helping move this work forward.

Alongside his father, Nick, Marc helped turn a deeply personal journey into a lifelong commitment to others. Through decades of advocacy and leadership, he has carried that commitment forward with determination, heart, and an unwavering belief in what we can accomplish together.

Today I turn 60, and I’m feeling hopeful about what lies ahead. 💙

I was 19 when I was paralyzed. In the 41 years since, I’ve had a front row seat to extraordinary progress in spinal cord injury research. What our scientists at The Miami Project are working on right now has me especially excited.

They’re discovering drugs with the potential to protect and repair the injured nervous system. They’re exploring neuromodulation to help the brain and body communicate. And they’re finding new ways to bring these approaches together.

I’ve seen people move hands that hadn’t moved in years and take steps they were once told they’d never take. Moments like those remind me how far we’ve come—and how much more is possible.

I’m marking my 60th with a Facebook fundraiser for The Buoniconti Fund in support of The Miami Project. For anyone who wants to celebrate with me, a gift of $60 in honor of this milestone will help fuel the science I’m so excited about.
