On September 22, the Economic Club of Miami partnered with SEIA Miami for a fascinating fireside chat with David Blumberg, Founder & Managing Partner of Blumberg Capital, moderated by Brent Vosters, Partner at Benesch Investment Group and a member of the Economic Club of Miami’s Advisory Board.

From the rise of autonomous AI agents to extraordinary productivity gains, David shared his insights on how AI is already transforming industries, creating new investment opportunities, and reshaping the future of work.

He also discussed how AI is saving lives through medical breakthroughs, why an entrepreneurial mindset is more important than ever, and what Miami needs to do to become a leading global technology hub.

We officially kicked off the Economic Club of Miami’s fall season on September 22 with a fantastic evening in partnership with SEIA Miami at their beautiful private club in Brickell.

Our members and guests heard from David Blumberg, Founder & Managing Partner of Blumberg Capital, in a fireside chat with Brent Vosters, Partner at Benesch Investment Group and a member of the Economic Club of Miami Advisory Board.

Their conversation explored “The Founder Mindset for the Age of AI”— from the qualities that have always distinguished successful founders to how entrepreneurs and business leaders must think, adapt, and lead in a rapidly changing world shaped by artificial intelligence.

Roberto J. Gonzalez, Miami-Dade County Commissioner  — who serves as Vice Chair of the County Commission’s Aviation and Seaport Committee and brings the perspective of local government, infrastructure and regional connectivity.

Caryn Seidman Becker, Chairman & CEO of CLEAR — leading a company at the intersection of aviation, technology, security and the customer experience, with more than 43 million members nationwide.

We’ll talk about more than simply getting from Point A to Point B. Mobility is an economic issue. It affects where people live and work, where businesses invest, how visitors experience our state, and how we connect people with opportunity.

Congratulations to Byron Donalds and David Jolly on winning their respective party primaries for Governor of Florida.

Before Florida voters chose them as their parties’ nominees, The Economic Club of Miami had already hosted both candidates in 2025 as part of our Florida’s Economic Future series.

That speaks directly to what we aim to do at the Economic Club of Miami: take a bigger-picture, long-term view of the forces shaping Florida’s economy — and bring our members into the conversation.

Our programming brings together leaders from business, finance, law, monetary policy, public policy and beyond. We look at the economy as a whole, giving our members the opportunity to hear directly from influential leaders — and, at our mostly member-exclusive events, often meet and engage with them personally.

Our forums with Byron Donalds on May 12, 2025 and David Jolly on October 21, 2025, followed that model: substantive, interview-style conversations about Florida’s future, followed by questions directly from our members.

On September 22, the Economic Club of Miami will host David Blumberg.

Founder and managing partner of Blumberg Capital, David has partnered with visionary founders from inception through exit since 1991 — with early investments in industry leaders like Addepar, Braze, DoubleVerify, Nutanix, and Trulioo. Israeli-founded companies make up roughly a third of his firm’s portfolio.

Before venture, his path ran through the Bronfman Family Office, Apax Partners, T. Rowe Price, and Check Point Software — with degrees from Harvard and Stanford along the way. A leader of the 2020 tech exodus to Miami, he’s helped make our city a global innovation hub, backing institutions from the University of Miami to Achieve Miami.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate 250 years of American independence and the enduring ideals that have inspired generations: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

The Declaration of Independence did more than establish a new nation—it proclaimed a revolutionary idea: that free people, empowered by liberty and equal opportunity, can build extraordinary lives and flourishing communities.

Here in Miami, we see that promise renewed every day. Our city has become a destination for entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and families from across America and around the world who come here to pursue their own American Dream. Their energy, ambition, and belief in freedom continue to shape one of the most dynamic economies in the world.

As we commemorate America 250 (1776–2026), we honor the courage and sacrifice of our Founders, who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor so that future generations could live in freedom.

From all of us at the Economic Club of Miami, we wish you and your family a joyful, meaningful, and patriotic Independence Day.
