Our Terrawatu team recently visited ECHO’s East Africa Impact Center to deepen our knowledge of sustainable agriculture and community resilience. 🌿
We explored hands-on techniques including rainwater harvesting, composting, and solar fruit drying, practical tools that strengthen food security and environmental stewardship.
These learnings will directly support our work with farmers and women’s groups across Tanzania. 🌍
Growing knowledge today to empower communities tomorrow.

✨ Graduation season in Tanzania! 🎓
We are so proud of the Huruma Orphanage students who have completed their O-Level education at Edmund Rice Secondary School in Arusha.
These students represent resilience, commitment, and the power of community support. Education opens doors - and your generosity helps make those doors possible.
đź’› Thank you to every sponsor and supporter walking alongside these students on their journey.

It’s not too late to turn your Giving Tuesday spirit into a Month of Giving commitment!

Recent political unrest has brought uncertainty, but hope shines through our brand‑new Savory Hub – the Eramatare Centre, a powerful pathway for sustainable development in the region.

The Lynn Bretsnyder Women’s Centre (LBWC) is driving small‑business development, trainings, and workshops that are transforming villages around Mkonoo.
Every donation, big or small, keeps these life‑changing programs alive.

Tomorrow is Co-Director Sululu's Birthday!!!! Please do consider making a gift in support of Terrawatu's new project that Sululu is leading that will do wonders for the Maasai community 🥰

Regenerating the World's Grasslands and Saving Maasai Culture Life has not been easy for the Maasai of East Africa. It has become increasingly challenging to continuing to practice a traditional pastoral lifestyle, raising livestock and caring for large extended families. Climate change has led to y...

It was an incredible experience to be in Zimbabwe this past week at the Africa Centre for Holistic Management, the global headquarters of Savory Institute. 🌍✨

We had the chance to learn directly from Allan Savory and his team, and to connect with inspiring people from around the world who are working to regenerate grasslands and restore balance to our planet.

As you know, Terrawatu is now an official candidate to create the Simanjiro Savory Hub in Tanzania. This Hub will support Maasai communities who are facing the challenges of climate change and relocation, helping them to continue their pastoral way of life while healing degraded land for future generations.

This is more than a project, it is a movement to preserve indigenous knowledge, combine it with cutting-edge science, and create lasting change for both people and planet.

We need your support to move this dream forward. 🙏 Please consider donating to help us launch the Simanjiro Savory Hub. Together we can create impact that ripples far beyond Tanzania.

Hello friends and supporters,
This is our chance to build something transformative together.
The Savory Hub Simanjiro is more than a project—it’s a partnership with Maasai communities in northern Tanzania to regenerate their land and create lasting change. We have the vision and the local leadership, but we need your help to make it a reality.
Your donation directly funds:
Training for Maasai pastoralists in sustainable grazing.
Construction of an eco-lodge to create local jobs.
Restoration of thousands of hectares of vital grasslands.
A future where people and wildlife thrive together.
This is a critical moment. You can help us launch a hub that will transform landscapes and lives for generations. Every dollar makes a difference.
Dr. Tanya will be with Founding Co-Director Sululu and mentee Edward at the Africa Centre of Holistic Management in Zimbabwe this week to learn the ropes from the founders of Savory Institute themselves.
Help us build a regenerative future. Please donate now through the link in our bio.

Big news from Terrawatu! 🌿

In the heart of northern Tanzania, the Savory Hub Simanjiro is coming to life - a visionary center where Maasai communities are regenerating fragile grasslands, restoring biodiversity, and building sustainable livelihoods through holistic land management.

With your support, this Hub will grow into a space for learning, healing, and hope.

Your donation helps make possible:

âś… A training and community center where Maasai pastoralists learn regenerative grazing and sustainable land stewardship
âś… Eco-cabins to host visitors, researchers, and trainees who come to learn and share knowledge
âś… A community-run eco-lodge that generates income and job opportunities for local families
âś… The revival of thousands of hectares of degraded grassland - restoring wildlife habitat and improving grazing lands for livestock

Every contribution goes directly into launching this visionary Hub - empowering Maasai communities to protect their land, preserve their culture, and build a more sustainable future.

Join us in transforming these landscapes - for people, for wildlife, for the planet. 🌍
