GRAN TANGI❤️

Dancing to celebrate that in just 8 days, we raised an incredible $5,150—exceeding our $5K goal! That covers more than a month and a half of operational expenses for StigesU, a daycare facility making a huge difference for children and adults with mental disabilities in Suriname.

We are so grateful for every share, like, and donation! Thank you for being part of our mission at and proving that when we come together, big change is possible.

Despite being a small country, we've got big goals in Suriname: make it to the World Cup and raise $5k to help children and adults with mental disabilities at StigesU.

We are on the second to last day of our 7-day fundraiser. Our goal is $5,000-- in honor of the 50 years they've served the community. We are currently at $2775. We are over halfway there. Please help us reach our goal.

StigesU has served the community in Paramaribo for 50 years— so this year, our goal is to raise $5,000 to help support them!

Imaginary Club is dedicated to supporting children and adults with mental disabilities in Suriname. We donate directly to StigesU, a daycare facility, whose role is crucial in taking care of people so that their parents/caretakers are able to work and provide for their families.

Every donation—big or small—makes a huge impact. Can’t donate? Sharing this post helps just as much. Let's come together AND make a difference and help those who need it.

When you donate to Imaginary Club, you help the mentally disabled in Suriname-- but why Suriname?

We are focused on Suriname because of two main reasons.

1) They do not have the same resources that are available in more developed countries like the United States. Suriname just is not a country that attracts the attention of global initiatives to help the disadvantaged– honestly most people have never heard of Suriname.

2) Suriname has gone through aggressive hyper inflation in the past decade. When a country suffers financially, usually the most disadvantaged feel it the most.

“For me I would describe myself as Asperger’s-- meaning not understanding of what’s happening around you and all that stuff. It can be hard to tell when people are being happy or being serious. You have to be very careful or they might get upset. It can make me anxious. I’m lucky because I’m good at arts and paintings so I found an art studio for special needs people called Mawaheb. Our teachers and parents push us sometimes, but that’s just because they want us to become adults inside ourselves. I learned to ride the metro. It takes a lot of time to learn because you are scared of getting lost but my brothers taught me. When I went to England to study painting I flew on an airplane by myself. Actually I was scared at first but I got my boarding pass and followed the signs to where my boarding pass said to go. Now I’m even working as a waiter in a hotel. It’s very hard and sometimes I get nervous but I’ve never had an accident before. Tonight I’m doing a poem for the opening ceremony about being the same as everyone else. It’s going to be live on the TV. I’m excited but also a little nervous to be honest. I’m going to pretend like the stadium is empty except for all my friends that I love. My parents are very proud of me. They said: ‘Look at Nazeer. Our shy boy is no longer shy.’”
