Hi everyone! It’s been awhile since I last checked in, but I wanted to share some AMAZING news and especially thank all of you who helped to make a difference in the lives of others! As of March 21st, 2016, our project at Ubena Zomozi Secondary School in Tanzania has been completed and the school is powered up with full electricity!
With the $10,000 we raised, Innovation: Africa installed three solar panels of 150W each along with 3 solar batteries of 120AH. These systems were installed at three different buildings:
• Staff Offices
• Girl's dormitory + one classroom
• Lab room + one classroom (which will soon be converted into the Boy's dormitory)
iA also installed Solar Home Systems to all three teachers houses as well as student's and teacher's bathrooms. The iA team will return to Ubena Zomozi Secondary School to extend power into a barbershop/hair-cutting cottage once it has been constructed, as their micro-business in order for the solar committee to generate enough funds necessary to allow the projects to be 100% sustainable.
THANK YOU for helping make the world a bit brighter and grant access to a proper education to the students of Ubena Zomozi Secondary School. This is the result of hard work, dedication and community coming together to make a difference and positively impact the lives of others. Again, thanks so much to all of you and enjoy the attached pictures!
