FIU SigEp Alumni Official Page of Florida International University (FIU) Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) Alumni. This page i It was the first national NIC fraternity on FIU’s campus.

The Florida Nu Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon was installed in January of 1987. The chapter was originally formed as a local fraternity (Sigma Phi) by several men who were looking to enhance their college experience and enrich campus life at FIU. While they researched other national fraternities to join, their hearts and minds were set on aligning with Sigma Phi Epsilon (hence the similarity in the

name). The members of the local fraternity petitioned Sigma Phi Epsilon national headquarters in April of 1986 and were made a colony in August of 1986. At the time of their installation the following January, the Florida Nu chapter had the quickest turnover time from colony to chapter for the national fraternity (5 months) and had grown from 28 men to 92 men in two years. Since their founding, SigEp has played a prominent role in campus life at FIU. They have continued to develop prominent campus leaders in SGA, Peer Advising, Orientation Leaders, Student Alumni Association, and dozens other organizations. The chapter has been recognized nationally four times with the Buchanan Cup – an award given to SigEp’s top chapters.

Carlos has remained actively involved with FIU SigEp, including participating in our Career Fair and mentoring undergraduate brothers. We are proud to celebrate this accomplishment and his continued commitment to helping others succeed.

honors the SWF - SigEp Wrestling Federation. From 1998-2002, the SWF raised tens of thousands of dollars for charity while providing the FIU community with its most entertaining for philanthropic series of events ever. Members trained under their actual pro wrestling coaches and had and had epic shows on campus.
