Broken Canvas

Broken Canvas BROKEN CANVAS INC., is dedicated to building awareness for, and strengthening mental health through the power of creativity. This is how leaders are developed.

We aim to provide a safe space for individuals to express, explore and heal through art therapy, workshops and community outreach. Precious Love Connect Group Provide Three Things

- A place to Connect - yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him. 1 Corinthians 9:22 TLB

It is easy to feel alone in a crowd o

f members in the church. Connect groups are an open door into the life of our church family. When you are in a connect group, you experience the love and strength of biblical community.

- A place to Protect - We know what real love is because Christ gave up His life for us. And so we also ought to give up our lives for our Christian brothers and sisters. 1 John 3:16

Imagine someone you can call when you're discouraged, someone to pray with when you are doubting, and someone who can teach you more about the word of God. Imagine a loving community of people who notice when you need it, and who help you share your faith with others. Connect groups are a place where you are protected and supported.

- A place to Grow - As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

A place you can be equipped to become more like Jesus and to live a faith-filled life. We believe that every person is created with God-given potential to make a difference in the world. Connect groups are a place where there are like-minded people who believe in you. We want to see you grow, flourish, and become all that God has called you to be!

We walked into this school carrying more than a message…we carried a vulnerability and we carried responsibility.

Because somewhere in those classrooms are voices that have been silenced, stories that have never been told, and children who deserve to grow up knowing that their bodies are theirs.
No exceptions, no excuses.

Sexual assault awareness is not just a month- it’s a call to speak, to protect, to educate, and to break the silence that has been normalized for too long. We may not see it all, but it exists. And choosing to look away is no longer an option.

To every student we met, may you grow with confidence, knowledge, and the courage to speak up

Sexual abuse is more common than many realize and often underreported. In the United States, over 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Many cases are never reported, meaning the real numbers are even higher.

This is why language matters. Jokes, comments, or behaviors, even when unintentional, that make someone uncomfortable are not harmless. They normalize and trivialize sexual assault, and that is unacceptable so, let us be mindful of how we speak and treat one another.

Being able to survive abuse doesn’t mean it was ever okay.
Your voice matters. Speak up for yourself, your friends, and your loved ones, especially those who cannot defend themselves.

Silence protects harm. Speaking up creates change. 🫂🫶🏽✨

Too often, survivors of sexual abuse are made to feel like silence is safer. But silence only protects the harm, not you.

Do not return to environments that broke you.
Do not allow the pain of abuse to silence you or restrict your future growth.

Your voice is power. Your story is valid. Your healing matters.

Sometimes, stepping into your full potential requires choosing a different path and making away forward.

One that prioritizes your peace, your safety, and your truth.

At Broken Canvas, we stand for awareness, advocacy, and healing. If you see something, say something, and If you’ve been through something, know that you are allowed to rise beyond it.

Between May 2023 – April 2024 about 1.4 million people experienced sexual offenses in Nigeria.

Looking at the statistics; do you think more education and awareness programs could reduce sexual violence?

we believe awareness is the first step toward healing and change.

From our local communities to global conversations, Broken Canvas is committed to using creativity and compassion to shine light on issues that impact overall public health concerns. Every story shared, and every life touched brings us one step closer to a more informed and empowered society.

Knowledge creates change and together we can turn awareness into action. 🫶🏽🌍🎨

🚨This month we remind our communities of something very important 🧑‍🏫

🗣️Speaking up protects you and others!

🙇🏾Silence allows harm to continue. Courage interrupts it.

If you see something that doesn’t feel right, say something.
If someone trusts you enough to share their story, believe them.

📌Consent must always be clear, willing, and respected.

❌Coercion is NOT consent
❌ Pressure is NOT consent
❌ Manipulation is NOT consent
❌ “No” does NOT mean keep asking

Respecting boundaries is not optional — it is essential for safety and dignity.

At Broken Canvas, we encourage everyone to treat survivors with empathy, patience, and integrity. Survivors deserve support, not judgment. Healing begins when communities listen, protect, and stand together. 🫶🏽🌎✨

➖BROKEN CANVAS X MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS ➖

A canvas represents potential, a space for creativity, expression, and new beginnings. The word broken acknowledges pain, struggle, and imperfection. Together, Broken Canvas reflects the journey from brokenness to healing, showing that even damaged parts can become something beautiful.
Many people experiencing mental health challenges feel "broken" or misunderstood. The name meets them where they are, offering empathy without judgment. It says, “We see you, and there’s still value, beauty, and hope.”

Mental health advocacy often requires honesty and vulnerability. A name that acknowledges imperfection or struggle (like Broken Canvas) tends to resonate more deeply and honestly with those who need support. A name that’s overly positive can feel out of touch or even invalidating to those who are in dark or difficult places. It might unintentionally suggest that negative emotions are unwelcome or should be quickly "fixed. "Mental health challenges are often raw, painful, and complex and our goal is to provide a safe space for individuals who feel out of touch, who are in dark or in difficult places.

Too many people start off good, they have big dreams, they’re excited about their future, but along the way they hit some setbacks. When you’re tempted to give up, dig your heels in and say, “I wasn’t created to give up; I wasn’t created to quit, I was created to finish
