Last night at our Summer Social, executive director Andie Arthur mentioned in her remarks that Amendment 3 on the Florida ballot in November would have devastating impacts on our cultural institutions and our wider communities. Here's some more information about why we at the League are concerned:

We know it’ll cost tens of billions. But the politicians haven’t told us how they’ll pay for it. This amendment could eventually bleed $34 billion from local government budgets.

Budget Town Hall Meetings are coming up!

Meetings are an opportunity for residents and community organizations to learn about the proposed budget (FY 2026-2027), ask questions, and share feedback.
WEAR YOUR LIME GREEN AND PREPARE A 1-MINUTE STATEMENT OR QUESTION REGARDING SUPPORT OF THE ARTS & CULTURE BUDGET ALLOCATIONS FOR THE MAYOR.
All meetings are held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Registration is encouraged but not required. Spanish and Haitian Creole interpretation services will be available.

Additional meetings may be added.
− Wednesday, August 5 – Westchester Cultural Arts Center
− Thursday, August 6 – Oak Grove Park/Father Gerard Jean-Juste Center
− Friday, August 7 – Miami-Dade Main Public Library
− Monday, August 10 – Arcola Lakes Senior Center
− Wednesday, August 19 – North Dade Regional Library
− Monday, August 31 – Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center
