Something remarkable has been happening in statehouses across the country. For generations, menopause care was treated as optional, elective, or simply not covered. Women paid out of pocket for hormone therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, bone health treatments, and specialist visits, or they went without.

That is beginning to change, state by state, law by law. Learn more in our latest policy blog, created by our team member, Brittney!

Where Did My Words Go? Brain Fog, Memory & Menopause

Brain fog is real and it’s not “all in your head.”

•Early warning signs women often overlook
•Screening guidelines and access barriers
•Cultural silence, embarrassment, and delay

We are so excited to be starting 2026 with the 1st Nana Chat of the year!

Women’s Hearts Deserve the Mic
Nana Chat - February 2026

A Nana Chat on Women’s Heart Matters:
For too long, women’s heart symptoms have been minimized, misunderstood, or missed altogether—especially during menopause and post-menopause.

In this Nana Chat, we center the voices and experiences of women navigating Month 13™—the stage beyond menopause—where heart health becomes even more critical.

Join us for a grounded, accessible conversation with Briana Ricks, MPH (American Heart Association) as we explore:
• Why heart disease presents differently in women
• How menopause impacts cardiovascular risk
• Common myths and missed warning signs
• How to advocate for yourself with confidence and clarity

This is not a lecture. It’s a conversation—because women’s hearts deserve the mic.

Our first Nana Chat of the year will be held on Friday, February 20th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm EST. Please register via the link: at https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/XHohVzJ5QR6j1VhO0-SrzA #/registration

Dear Nanas, Friends, and Community,

As we close out 2025, I find myself reflecting on a truth this year made impossible to ignore: chaos and creation often look the same in the moment. What feels like disruption can also be the first stirring of something new. And so, together, we learned to navigate differently—more intentionally, more courageously, and with a deeper trust in ourselves and in one another.

This year grew us. It stretched us individually, strengthened us collectively as Nanas, and wove our wider community even closer. We faced challenges, yes, but we did not face them alone. If 2025 taught me anything personally, it is that chosen family is its own kind of sanctuary—a place where strength, grace, wisdom, and support rise up exactly when you need them most. Thank you for showing up for yourselves, for each other, and for this mission.

Thank you for your honesty, your humor, your resilience, and your willingness to keep learning and growing. You continue to remind us that aging is not a decline—it is an evolution. And when we evolve together, we create something powerful enough to outshine any chaos that comes our way.

May this holiday season bring you rest, warmth, and renewed joy. May the year ahead meet you with softness, possibility, and the unshakeable knowledge that you are seen, valued, and deeply loved in this community.

With gratitude and hope,

Vanessa

This Giving Tuesday, honor the stages that shape every woman’s journey.

Menopause and post-menopause aren’t just “aging women’s issues”—they are health stages that affect women broadly and unevenly, especially Black and Brown women who often experience symptoms earlier, harder, and with less support.

Project Nana is committed to walking with women through these stages, providing education, connection, and prevention-driven programs that meet women where they are.

Your support fuels:
• Stage-based menopause education
• Sexual health and STI prevention resources
• Gynecologic cancer awareness and early detection
• Peer Advocate training across generations
• Programs designed for real women with real lives
Give today. Empower women at every stage, in every community.
