DISTURBING NEW ACCUSATIONS AGAINST THE ARCHDIOCESE OF MIAMI ...

10/25/2012

To all SAS Parents and Friends,
We must be realistic, this is just one small victorious battle in a very large war. For those of you who don't know...this is not the first time Garcia has been placed on "administrative leave" It happened after the '05 and the '07 accusations. He was also supposedly placed on leave right before this school started this year. This just gives the Archdiocese some time to regroup and plan. Their usual "m.o." is to return him to his post after a while claiming that the allegations have been deemed to be "not credible". Mind you, non-credible based on who's investigation? Based upon what facts? Based upon who's findings? Their own....The Archdiocese? At no time during Garcia's tenure have the SAS parents or parishioners been informed of what exactly was investigated and by whom? We all know from past experience that they are happy to pay out on these "non-credible" claims, and then the case goes away. They dangle cash carrots in front of these victims and pay them money in exchange for a "voluntary" dismissal - which is anything but. It is all part of a well architected plan and so far, because of our blind Faith, it has worked quite nicely for them. After twelve years and ? accusations, ? lawsuits?....He REMAINS in control of our parish and school. We must continue our letters and our phone calls. We must show them that this time we will not sit back and quietly accept yet ANOTHER self serving and baseless letter read out loud in the presence of our children while in church. Let them know that NO, we do not accept the ridiculous proposition that passing a lie detector is sufficient. Let them know that we do not believe that all of the accusers are opportunists. Let them know that we are no longer willing to explain to our children a 5th, 6th or 7th time, why he still remains there; notwithstanding all that they see, hear, and read about.....NOT THIS TIME!!!

I e-mailed Sr. Elizabeth Worley, Archbishop Wenski's assistant. This is the e-mail. Please feel free to use it as you please if it help the cause.
-concerned St. Agatha alumnus

Sr. Elizabeth Worley,

My name is Andrew Gonzalez. I am a former student of St. Agatha School and the son of a former teacher at St. Agatha. I grew up in St. Agatha. I consider it a second home. I was baptized there, gave my first confession there, and received Christ in the Holy Eucharist for the first time there. I was an altar server and a lector. In every sense of the word, St. Agatha is my home and I love it dearly.

That is why it pains me to see the disharmony in the school. One of my fondest memories of St. Agatha is the love the parents have for the school and the love the teachers have for the students. It is difficult to hear and see so much ugliness in the parish and school as a result of these accusations against Fr. Garcia.

A few years ago, when Fr. Garcia was going through his second allegations, Bishop John Noonan came to the school and answered the parent's questions and listened to their concerns. It was at that time I got to know of Bishop Noonan's holiness. Bishop Noonan and the Archdiocese made sure to listen to the parish and show the parents and teachers of the school that they care and are listening.

It is disheartening that the Archdiocese has not responded in a similar matter. Archbishop Wenski is the shepherd of the people of this Archdiocese and it is his responsibility to care for the faithful. The faithful at St. Agatha school are raising legitimate concerns over this issue that effects their children. It is only right that their concerns are listened to and that they know the Archdiocese cares about their opinions.

I ask that Archbishop Wenski come to St. Agatha School and listen to the concerns of the parents. It is important that he shows that he cares for our concerns in this difficult time.

Let's show the Archdiocese that our bishops, the shepherds of our souls, care about us and our children.

Thank you.

God bless,
Andrew Gonzalez

Archdiocese are admitting themselves that "there was a settlement involving Fr. Puertas" from St Agatha who is no longer a priest in the Archdiocese of Miami, yet the FACT REMAINS that parents nor parishioners were NEVER informed of said lawsuit or allegations ...
