Last Saturday, in honor of World Mental Health Day, BSRI CEO, Angela Mooss joined NAMI Miami-Dade for the 2026 Reel Minds Mental Health Film Festival. The afternoon featured a curated selection of short films highlighting stories of resilience, recovery, and the many ways people experience mental health conditions.

Our first in-person huddle since going fully remote! 💻

This week, the BSRI team traded our virtual meeting room for a shared table, some coffee, and a little co-working time together.

While shifting to working remotely has given our team flexibility in how and where we work, we also know that connection doesn’t have to disappear just because we no longer share an office. Being intentional about creating opportunities to get together, whether to collaborate, catch up, work alongside one another, or simply enjoy each other’s company, continues to be an important part of how we approach our culture.

Here’s to finding new ways to stay connected, wherever the work happens.

How do you collect the right data, then actually make it useful? Two new guides from BSRI tackle both halves of this ‘data for action’ equation.

The Data Decoded Guide breaks down qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research in simple, practical terms for nonprofits newer to evaluation, showing how combining approaches like a survey and interviews can reveal both what changed and why.

The Storytelling with Data Guide picks up from there, helping organizations turn findings into something clear and actionable. It offers BSRI's five elements of data storytelling, a checklist for reviewing reports before they go out, and guidance on choosing the right format, from a one-pager to a full dashboard.

Good data starts with the right approach and ends with a final product that decision makers can use.

Tomorrow is HR Professionals Day, and we’re celebrating the work behind the workplace.

At BSRI, our People function has always been about more than policies, processes, and paperwork. It’s about creating an environment where people can do meaningful work, grow professionally, feel connected to one another, and have the support and infrastructure they need along the way.

Melanie has helped shape that experience across every stage of the employee journey… from strengthening our People practices and developing our culture to creating opportunities for learning, connection, and wellness.

That work has become especially meaningful during BSRI’s transition. As our team prepares for what comes next, our People strategy has evolved alongside them. From creating resources, to professional development opportunities and individualized support, BSRI has evolved the space for our team to navigate change with intention.

Today, we celebrate Melanie and HR+ People professionals everywhere who remind us that taking care of the work also means taking care of the people doing it.

Fantasy football season has arrived at BSRI, and at the start of the season, our team held its annual draft. Bragging rights and a few bold trade offers were all on the table as everyone logged in from home to build their rosters.

Going remote has not slowed down our team culture. It has just pushed us to get creative about staying connected, and draft day is proof that a little friendly competition still goes a long way.

At BSRI, keeping people connected is not an afterthought during this transition. It is part of how we continue to work well together. 🏈

From our Transition Work Series, BSRI Chief People Officer Melanie Gonzalez shares the AI Resume Support Prompt Guide.

The idea is simple. AI should not replace a person's voice, but it can be a strong thought partner in a job search, used to clarify and strengthen what is already true rather than invent or exaggerate it.

The guide includes prompts for refining resume bullets, tailoring materials to a job description, and checking for ATS readability. As Melanie puts it, the goal isn't to sound impressive. It's to tell the truth about your work in a way that helps the right people understand what you bring next.

And that’s a wrap on our 2026 Summer Wellness Challenges! ☀️

Over the past three months, we challenged ourselves again for another season of connection, creativity, healthy habits, and small moments of intentional well-being throughout the summer.

Creating a healthy workplace isn’t only about big initiatives. It’s also about creating space for people to recharge, encouraging habits that support well-being, and building a culture where taking care of yourself can exist alongside doing great work.

Across 13 weeks and 13 different challenges, Summer Wellness gave us a chance to break up our routines, share a little more of ourselves with one another, and make room for things that can easily get lost in the busyness of the workday. From the simple to the silly, each challenge added something different to the summer — and gave us plenty of moments worth looking back on.

Summer Wellness 2026 may be officially complete, but we’re carrying that spirit with us into the rest of the year.

Here’s a look back at some of our last moments from this summer!

For years, this space was more than an office.

It was where ideas were scribbled across whiteboards, deadlines were met (sometimes after late nights), countless cups of tea were made, team meetings turned into laughter, celebrations happened big and small, and some pretty incredible work came to life.

This month, we closed the door to our physical office for the last time as BSRI officially became a fully remote organization.

And in true sitcom-finale fashion, we couldn’t leave without one last look around. The desks may be empty, the walls may be bare, and the lights may be off… but everything that made this place BSRI was never really contained within those walls.

It was the people. The relationships. The ideas. The work. The laughter. The moments in between. Our team is still here, still working alongside our partners and clients with the same care and commitment, just from a few more corners of the world.

So, before we turned off the lights and closed the door, we took one last walk through a place that holds a whole lot of BSRI history.

Goodbye, BSRI HQ. Thanks for the memories. 🥹

Last month marked a meaningful milestone for the IDEAS 2 Action Project: the final BSRI-led Collective Impact facilitated session.

Over the course of the project, the I2A Collective Impact Survey has captured the experiences of key staff across the I2A Learning Community ( ConnectFamilias, Overtown Children & Youth Coalition, Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center, and University of Miami) in relation to the five conditions of Collective Impact. Each year, our team brought the findings back to the group for a facilitated session built around reflecting and forward-planning together. Partners left each session with key strategies to collaborate on and carry into the next year of the project.

This final session was a chance to look back across the length of the project and talk openly about what the Learning Community’s growth, partnership, and impact looked like over time and how it can evolve as the project officially comes to a close.

More than anything, this work has been about serving as a bridge between theories and frameworks and the people doing the work day in and day out to build a community-academic partnership.

We are deeply grateful for the trust and for our time spent learning and growing together. 🤝
