Good morning!
We had a great July Congratulations again to our Hammocks CAC Deputies of the Month: Sergeants Adrien Couto, Adrian Lara and Deputies Alexander Aguilar, Aaron Araujo, Brian De Leon, Cameron Irvine, Roberto Navarro, Thomas Olbe Jr, and Rajiv Rosado.

The presentation by the Property Appraiser’s office was excellent. There was a lot of great information given by Mr. Tomas Regalado, Mildred Suarez, and Raul Nillo. We greatly appreciate them coming out to our community to speak with us and all the services and support they provide. They will be at the West Kendall Regional Library August 27th from 4-7pm to assist with personal situations.
There is a Coffee with a Deputy event today at the West Kendall Target at 2pm.
Last but definitely not least, we will meet this Wednesday , August 26, at 7 pm at the Hammocks Police station , 10000 sw 142 ave, for our August meeting. Please join us and welcome our speaker of the month, Luis Moreno with Epilepsy Alliance Florida.

Meeting tonight!
First, we would like to congratulate Deputies Edward Henriquez, Aaron Rodriguez, and Lisette Valdes for their exemplary service to our community in the successful apprehension of a theft ring that had been operating since 2025. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety are truly commendable, and we thank them for their outstanding work on behalf of our residents.
Secondly, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Detective Ryan Garcia of the Organized Crime Unit for his informative and engaging presentation. The information he shared was both valuable and relevant, and we are confident that it will be beneficial to all of us as we continue working together to keep our community informed, aware, and safe.
As a reminder, our next Community Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting will be TONIGHT, Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Hammocks District Station, located at 10000 SW 142 Avenue, in the Roll Call Room.
We are excited to welcome Lieutenant Julian Chica from the Aviation Unit, who will be providing a presentation on the operations and capabilities of this specialized division. This is a department that we have never previously featured at one of our CAC meetings, making it a unique opportunity to learn more about an important component of the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office. We look forward to what promises to be an informative and engaging presentation.
We hope to see all of you there.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to share that this upcoming meeting will be my last, both as an attendee and as your Hammocks Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Chair.
This journey has been one that I will always treasure, and I have truly enjoyed representing our Hammocks community—a community that I will always love and hold close to my heart. Throughout the years, I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people, many of whom I proudly call friends. There are simply too many of you to mention by name, but please know that each and every one of you will always have a special place in my heart and in my life.
Although my family and I are relocating, I will still be returning to the area from time to time as my professional responsibilities bring me back to Miami-Dade County. I look forward to seeing many of you whenever those opportunities arise.
To the men and women of the Hammocks Police Station, I offer my deepest gratitude. As I have often said, there is no finer group of individuals than those I have had the pleasure of knowing and working alongside throughout the years. This station has always been a breeding ground for excellence, professionalism, and leadership. I will forever cherish the memories and relationships built with the dedicated law enforcement officers, civilian personnel, and command staff who have served here. Many have gone on to assume greater responsibilities and leadership roles throughout Miami-Dade County, and I am proud to have witnessed their growth and success.
Thank you all for allowing me the honor and privilege of representing our community as your CAC Chair. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I will always be grateful for the trust, friendship, and support you have given me over the years.
The Hammocks will always hold a special place in my heart.
With sincere appreciation and gratitude,
Angel A. Garcia

Good afternoon to all. Hope everyone is fine.

We would like to thank all that attended last month's meeting where we witnessed the acknowledgement of the highest number of Deputies that were recognized for the Deputies of the Month for the month of April 2026. Yes, it actually was standing room only, in that meeting. Once again, congratulations of all that were recognized for another job well done. We would also like to thank the Agricultural Patrol for their excellent presentation of letting us know what is going on in that area as well as explaining what their duties are there as well.

Just a reminder that we will have our May 2026 meeting where we will have Detective Ryan Garcia from the Organized Crimes Unit come in and talk to us about his area of expertise, promising to be an interesting presentation coming from this unit. Organized Crime should already give you an idea as to what to expect.

Also remember that we will be electing a new Vice Chair being that Alicia Arellano will be moving up as our new Chair.

Looking forward to seeing you all once again. Meeting shall take place on May 27th, at 10000 SW 142 Avenue in the Roll Call room at 7:00 PM.

Good afternoon, I hope everyone is well. Yes, it is that time of the month again and it is incredible that we are already ending the 4th month of 2026. Count your blessings and enjoy the ride since time does not wait for anyone or anything.
First I would like to thank Major Machado for having brought the Hammocks Investigative Unit to speak to us in last month's meeting. It was in fact a very interesting and enlightening presentation. Also another congratulations to our Deputies of the Month for the month of March 2026.
Just a reminder that next week, April 29, 2026 at 7:00 PM, we will have our April meeting where we will have the privilege of having our Ag Patrol come in and speak to us on what's going on in that area and what they are doing to make it safer for us and the residents of that area. Remember that this is an isolated area and much occurs there that can reasonably create a problem in all other surrounding areas.
Meeting will take place at the same place and time, Hammocks District Station, located at 10000 SW 142 Avenue at 7:00 PM. Looking forward to seeing you all once again

Sincerely,
