Reynold Monestine – A pillar of dedication and service
Reynold Monestine, a veteran member of the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) family, has dedicated 33 years of his life to improving regional transportation services. As the Property Manager, Reynold oversees critical contracts for janitorial services across Metro Rail, Bus, and Mover operations, ensuring cleanliness and safety for passengers and staff alike. His role also involves liaising with contractors and the community to maintain functionality and aesthetic appeal for transit stations and facilities.

Throughout his tenure, Reynold has demonstrated a remarkable ascent within the department. Starting as a Currency Processor, he steadily climbed the ranks, taking on roles such as Revenue Collector, Bus Hostler, and Clerk III before assuming his current position as Property Manager. This journey showcases not only his expertise but also his adaptability and willingness to learn and take on new challenges to improve the transit system. Additionally, his active involvement with organizations like COMTO since 2000, where he served as a Parliamentarian and a Board Member at Large, reflects his commitment to industry excellence and community engagement.

His favorite aspect of his job is the meaningful interactions he has with the community and contractors. He approaches the task of ensuring that stations and facilities are not just functional but also welcoming and safe with diligence and enthusiasm. His dedication to fostering positive relationships underscores his belief in the importance of collaboration and communication in maintaining top-notch transportation services.

Treasuring the value of treating others with respect, Reynold lives by the golden rule: "Treat people the way you want to be treated." This principle shines through in his professional conduct and interactions, earning him respect and admiration from colleagues and stakeholders. Beyond work, Reynold finds joy in travel. He cherishes quality time with his family, highlighting a well-rounded life approach that enriches his professional and personal spheres.
