White Roof Initiative

White Roof Initiative Miami based non-profit organization that organizes projects to coat roofs white, reducing environmental issues linked to dark roofs. Extend roof life
3.

The White Roof Initiative's goal is to coat roofs white using volunteers and a silicone based paint, ultimately offsetting the harmful effects of dark roofs. Dark roofs absorb light, retain heat, and as a result, heat both the building and air above them. Warmer buildings are directly correlated to increased energy usage from air-conditioning systems, thermal/air pollution, and countless other det

rimental effects to the environment. White roofs reflect light and keep buildings significantly cooler inside. The White Roof Initiative's projects:

1. Lower future energy costs
2. Reduce air/thermal pollution
4. Decrease urban air temperatures
5. Unite communities over a sustainable cause

The White Roof Initiative extends its services to commercial, office, school, apartment, and municipal buildings. We work with building owners throughout every step of the coating process - running evaluations on roofs, PAYING for AT LEAST 50% of each PROJECT'S COSTS, contacting volunteers, and ultimately overseeing the work for each project. Each white roof has the potential to save building owners thousands of dollars in the long run, while also bettering the environment. If you want your building painted, are interested in volunteering, or just find yourself curious about what we do, please email [email protected] or visit our website (https://www.wrimiami.org).
