We're very sorry to hear of the passing of Marty Nadler, a renowned writer, producer, and longtime collaborator of Garry Marshall.

We had the honor of hosting Marty at the Miami Jewish Film Festival in 2022 for the world premiere of IMORDECAI, with Judd Hirsch also in attendance. It was a special evening and a privilege to welcome Marty and celebrate his work with our audience.

Marty’s remarkable career included writing for beloved television series such as HAPPY DAYS and LAVERNE & SHIRLEY, as well as contributing to nine Garry Marshall films, including PRETTY WOMAN, FRANKIE AND JOHNNY, RUNAWAY BRIDE, VALENTINE’S DAY, and MOTHER’S DAY.

Marshall considered Marty a good-luck charm and famously gave him cameos in his films, a fitting testament to the friendship and affection they shared.

We're grateful to have known Marty and to have shared in one small moment of his extraordinary life and career.

May his memory be for a blessing.

This powerful and moving film about the resilience of the human spirit was so wonderfully received by our audience, with more than 230 film fans coming out for the screening and special reception we hosted in the film’s honor.

We're proud to announce that the 11th Screening the Holocaust Series opens with a special presentation of HONORABLE MR. MORGENTHAU, winner of the MJFF 2026 Kadima Jury Prize, on Thursday, September 3 at 7:30pm at the new Holocaust Education Center at Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach. For this special evening, director Hilan Warshaw will join us in person to introduce the film and take part in an extended conversation with the audience following the screening.
