* By total number of reported human trafficking cases, California consistently ranks highest, followed by Texas and Florida. These states have large populations, major transportation hubs, and extensive tourism industries.
* By rate per capita (cases relative to population), some analyses have found Nevada to have the highest rate of trafficking victims, with states such as Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida also ranking high in certain years.

For child s*x trafficking specifically, experts note that it occurs in all 50 states, and no single state can definitively be called the “worst” because reporting methods differ and many cases go unreported. A few commonly identified hotspots for child trafficking include:

* Los Angeles
* Houston
* Atlanta
* Miami

These areas are frequently cited because of large populations, transportation networks, and trafficking investigations.

One important fact: boys are also trafficked, but they are often underidentified and underreported compared with girls, especially in s*x trafficking cases.

What is Gaslighting?

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which a person tries to make someone doubt their own memory, perception, judgment, or reality.

Common examples include:

* Denying something that clearly happened (“I never said that.”)
* Telling someone they’re overreacting or imagining things when their concerns are valid.
* Rewriting past events to make the other person question their memory.
* Blaming the victim for misunderstandings or problems that the manipulator caused.
For example:
Person A: “You yelled at me yesterday.”
Person B: “No, I didn’t. You’re always making things up.”
If this pattern happens repeatedly, Person A may start to question their own recollection of events.
Gaslighting can occur in:
* Romantic relationships
* Families
* Friendships
* Workplaces
* Social or political contexts
The key difference between gaslighting and a simple disagreement is intentional or repeated manipulation that causes someone to doubt their own sense of reality.

What is Pride Month?

Pride Month is an annual celebration held in June to honor the history, culture, and contributions of LGBTQ+ (le***an, gay, bis*xual, transgender, q***r, and other gender- and s*xual-minority) communities.

It is observed in June because it commemorates the Stonewall Uprising, a series of events that began on June 28, 1969, and became a major catalyst for the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement.

During Pride Month, many communities organize:

* Parades and festivals
* Educational events and discussions
* Cultural performances
* Advocacy and awareness campaigns
* Celebrations of LGBTQ+ history and achievements

For many people, Pride Month is both a celebration of identity and a time to reflect on ongoing efforts toward equality, inclusion, and civil rights.

Different people view or participate in Pride Month in different ways—some attend events, some learn about LGBTQ+ history, and others show support for friends, family, or community members.
