What a fantastic speaker event at Bakehouse Art Complex in Wynwood🎤

On Wednesday, we hosted a presentation about “media in the newsroom - in the context of AI, trust, technology & Journalism”. This brought together a great audience for a fascinating conversation about journalism, technology, AI, and the changing media landscape on both sides of the Atlantic.

A big thank you to our two fantastic speakers, CONSTANCE JONES and German Consul General Christofer Burger German Consulate General Miami, for their insightful presentations and the engaging Q&A that followed.

The evening also gave our guests the opportunity to discover the incredible Bakehouse Art Complex. After a short introduction to the Bakehouse, its building and artist community, guests were invited on a guided tour following the discussion.

And of course, a networking evening needs great food and drinks! Our sponsor Emil’s Sausage & Deli treated our guests to delicious German bites, including different sausages, Laugenbrezel with egg salad, and Mohnkuchen, while Paulaner Sunset provided Spezi, a German favorite for everyone to enjoy.

📰🤖 What happens when AI enters the newsroom? And in a rapidly changing media landscape, who — and what — can we still trust?

Join the German American Business Chamber of South Florida for a timely transatlantic conversation exploring how Germany 🇩🇪 and the United States 🇺🇸 are approaching AI, journalism, media neutrality and public trust — and why the differences matter.

🎙️ NBC6 Miami Anchor CONSTANCE JONES Jones will lead the conversation, bringing a particularly unique perspective to the discussion. A German-American journalist, Constance recently spent time in Germany and Brussels as part of the RIAS Berlin Commission Fellowship Program, experiencing firsthand how European newsrooms are responding to the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. Her recent research has also examined AI adoption inside American newsrooms, giving her an insightful perspective from both sides of the Atlantic.

🇩🇪 Joining her will be German Consul General Christofer Burger, contributing the German perspective — from regulation and Germany’s publicly funded broadcasting system to questions surrounding journalistic independence, neutrality and public trust.

Together, we’ll explore AI-generated content, changing newsroom technology, regulation, credibility and editorial responsibility — followed by a lively audience Q&A. 💬

🎨 And the experience continues beyond the conversation. Following the discussion, the Bakehouse team will offer our guests a special guided tour of the Bakehouse Art Complex, including its galleries and working artist spaces, with several artists present to introduce their work.
