The Zambrana Music Foundation was established to truly recognize and acknowledge the contributions that Afro-Cuban classical composer and pianist José Manuel “Lico” Jiménez Berroa (1851-1917) made to classical music and to support the dreams of emerging Afro-Cuban and Afro-Caribbean musicians. Our mission is to:

-Spread awareness of Lico’s music and musical contributions
-Support emerging Afro-Cuban and Afro-Caribbean musicians
-Oppose all forms of racism, intolerance, and biases

Join us October 8th! The Florida Chamber Orchestra is hosting a concert highlighting the contributions to classical music by 19th century Cuban composers. Under the baton of Maestra Marlene Urbay, Lico’s works and symphonic orchestra will be included in their concert program. Jonathan Ingram Zambrana (Lico's great-great grandson) has been invited to play with the orchestra and you can imagine how special this event is for our family!
