Well, Goliath has come to Miami in the form of outdoor advertisers armed with millions of dollars in campaign contributions who want to build monster billboards on buildings. These monster billboards overwhelm our skyline and our neighborhoods. Join us to stop them!

Members of Scenic Miami and Scenic Florida have been very disappointed by City of Miami elected officials who have allowed billboard lobbyists to draft legislation to legalize many more LED billboards and many more billboards on buildings within the City of Miami. Commonsense and respect for our beautiful South Florida scenery did not prevail.

Pepe Diaz, a Commissioner of Miami-Dade County, has proposed that Commissioners discuss the County Sign Code. Diaz has always been friendly to the outdoor advertising industry AKA the billboard companies. The discussion will take place on 1/12 starting at 9 am. We hope Diaz shows respect for residents and for tourists who DO NOT come to Florida to be harassed by billboards.

Scenic Miami-Dade advocates continue to fight billboards and visual pollution. Recently, the City of Miami and its commissioners are reviewing legislation submitted by a lobbyist / disgraced ex-commissioner to allow LED billboards on sidewalks and on public parks. Yup. Called kiosks but they are just vehicles to show LED ads.
