What We do?

Liberty City Optimist Club of Florida is non-profit organization founded in 1990. The LCOCFL provide high-yield activities, targeted programs, mentoring and employ key elements for Positive Youth Development. The after school program provides inners city youth with a safe space outside of school, gives them the ability to thrive and receive help with homework, reading, focused tutoring and fun activities. The after school program will also offer in the upcoming school year college and job readiness programs to our high school age participants. Staff is cleared through Department of Children & Families and Teacher’s are certified through Florida Department of Education!

Liberty City Optimist’s philosophy is to value human diversity and fair treatment of all people. It is our number one goal to provide the kind of environment and the kind of influences that encourage all children to become creative, independent, responsible, fully functioning, self-directed adults. Striving to continue learning and growing in our relationships with others so that we may nurture a peaceful environment and surround our children with understanding, warmth and giving.
