For 30 years, Catalyst Miami has grown alongside the community we love—from connecting families to essential resources and economic opportunities to cultivating community leaders, organizing alongside residents, and advocating for systems-level change.

Through it all, one belief has remained constant: lasting change happens alongside communities, not for them.

Now, we’re bringing our Beloved Community together to celebrate what we’ve built, honor the people who made it possible, and imagine what comes next.

Join us November 17 from 6:00 p.m. –8:30 p.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex for an evening of recognition, gratitude, joy, and connection.

Tickets are $150 and include dinner and an open bar.

Back-to-school season is the perfect time to set your child up for success—both in the classroom and beyond. 📚✨

If your child is starting kindergarten at a participating Miami-Dade County Public School, keep an eye out for the Future Bound Miami activation form coming home from school. By completing and returning the form (or submitting it online), you'll open a free Children's Savings Account that includes up to a $50 initial deposit to help your child begin saving for college or other postsecondary education. There is no cost to participate, and families can continue adding to the account over time.

Programs like Future Bound Miami help families build a strong financial foundation while encouraging children to dream big and plan for their future. Research shows that even small savings can increase a child's likelihood of pursuing higher education.

At Catalyst Miami, we're proud to support opportunities that expand economic mobility and help Miami-Dade families build long-term financial well-being.

Healthcare doesn't begin and end at the doctor's office.

The communities we live in, the homes we can afford, the policies that shape our neighborhoods, and the systems we rely on all influence our health.

That's why Catalyst Miami created LIGHT (Leaders in Grassroots Health Transformation)—a free 9-week hybrid leadership training program that equips residents with the knowledge and skills to become advocates for health equity in their communities.

Participants will:
✨ Explore the U.S. healthcare system and its alternatives.
✨ Learn how housing, climate, and health are deeply connected.
✨ Build confidence in public speaking, self-advocacy, community organizing, and leadership.
✨ Discover ways to create meaningful change in their own communities.

📅 Tuesdays, September 1–November 3
🕕 6:00–9:00 PM
đź’» Hybrid program (in-person location details will be shared with participants)

If you're ready to deepen your understanding of health justice and turn that knowledge into action, LIGHT is a place to start.

🗳️ Miami voters need long-term solutions, not funding cuts.

📰 In a new The Miami Times op-ed, Engage Miami Executive Director Katherine Leiva and Catalyst Miami CEO Zelalem Adefris—writing on behalf of the Divest/Invest Coalition—break down how Florida Amendment 3 could create long-term trade-offs for Miami-Dade, including cuts to transit, libraries, public safety, parks, and other essential services.
