💌 On November 20, 1000+ nonprofits are coming together for Give Miami Day and we need your support to keep powerful, community-rooted projects like this moving forward. Your generosity fuels our momentum to protect the culture, history, and neighborhoods that make Miami Miami.

A native of Overtown, Dr. Evalina Bestman is a trailblazer in mental health and community care - founding professor at FIU, founding board member of the Chapman Partnership and founder of the New Horizons Community Mental Health Center.

🏡 Now, through a partnership with the 3C Initiative and Miami Homes For All, Dr. Bestman is realizing a lifelong dream: transforming properties she owns in Overtown into affordable housing for the very community that raised her. She is a true pioneer and institution in this city - we’re absolutely honored to support her in this process.

Through the 3C Initiative (Connecting Capital & Community), we work with small-scale, community-rooted developers to keep families housed, block by block - by connecting mission-driven capital with legacy owners who want to preserve affordability in their neighborhoods. 🔑 Powered by JPMorganChase and the Center for Community Investment, these projects demonstrate that affordable housing can grow from within neighborhoods to maximize their positive impact.

We’re partnering with 10 emerging developers and property owners to support 15 small-scale affordable housing developments, which will total more than 150 new or preserved affordable apartment homes. Our support includes technical assistance, predevelopment grants, connections with neighborhood organizations, and systems change advocacy to ensure these and other deals like them are successfully completed.

🌴 We’re focusing on rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods like Overtown, Little Haiti, Allapattah, Liberty City, Brownsville, and North Miami to prevent mass displacement of lower-income residents. We’re also working with local owners – individuals and nonprofits - to help build wealth in the community.

This Give Miami Day, help us keep this momentum alive. Donate on November 20 to Miami Homes For All!

Past. Present. Possible. 🔑 In 1985, a collective of advocates, providers, and citizens founded this organization determined to ensure that homelessness would not be ignored in our city.

Forty years later, the same spirit drives Miami Homes For All. While our focus has evolved — from unsheltered homelessness in the 1980s, to legal protections in the 1990s, to affordable housing and youth homelessness today — our mission remains: to ensure everyone in Miami-Dade has a safe, affordable place to call home.

🌇 Join us in shaping the next 40 years by donating on Give Miami Day, November 20! 🌴 Your support today will help establish the next generation of housing advocacy, securing a stronger, more inclusive Miami for everyone.

Miami’s skyline is booming, but for most renters, it’s getting harder to call this city home. Nearly 60% of Greater Miami renters are cost-burdened, spending more than they can afford just to stay here.

In a new Miami Herald feature, our Executive Director Annie Lord discusses what it will take to make Miami livable for everyone.

📰 Read the full interview and join us as we celebrate 40 years of impact on October 29 at the Rubell Museum shaping the next 40 years of housing solutions together.

🪷 Shelsia was a member of the 2024 Youth Voice Action Collective (YVAC) cohort and a participant in the Housing 305 program, where she accessed permanent housing.

Many thanks to Shelsia for sharing her journey from housing instability to youth leadership and empowerment. 🌻 Her experience is a testament to the power and importance of centering youth voices and lived experience in the movement to end youth homelessness.

🥳 This Friday, November 7 join us for the 3rd Annual Young People’s Assembly celebrating the 2025 YVAC cohort! Expect food, raffle prizes, a youth-led panel and a wide-offering of community resources. Registration is free - link in bio.

💜 And with Give Miami Day coming up on November 20, we invite you to donate and uplift this work, supporting youth leadership and housing stability across Miami-Dade!

About YVAC
Since 2016, YVAC has uplifted the voices of young people ages 16-24 currently experiencing or with lived experience of homelessness, equipping them with advocacy, leadership and organizing skills to shape the policies and solutions that directly impact their lives.

Now embedded in the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, YVAC ensures that youth priorities shape policy and practice. YVAC are the backbone of MHFA’s youth homelessness initiatives guiding our programs with the expertise of their lived experience. Today, the YVAC is developing tools to share with our partners on best practices and authentic youth collaboration. Together, we’re building a Miami where every young person has a safe, affordable place to call home.

Applications for the 2026 cohort are now open! Link in bio.
