Last Saturday, the Broward County Medical Association (BCMA) brought physicians, residents, medical students, and healthcare professionals together for The Business of Medicine, a dynamic morning focused on the knowledge and tools physicians need to build successful careers, practices, and futures.

The program opened with remarks from Charles Felix, Publisher/Owner of the South Florida Hospital News & Healthcare Report, and Dr. Christopher Chang, BCMA President, setting the stage for a conversation about the business side of modern medicine.

From building wealth, purpose, and career success to navigating physician employment contracts with AI, the sessions addressed practical issues that physicians face throughout their careers.

Highlights included:

- Building Wealth, Purpose, and Career Success in Modern Medicine: Allan Greissman, MD and Jeffrey Kramer, CPA, CGMA, moderated by BCMA Past President Dr. Antonio Wong.

- How to Review Physician Employment Contracts Using AI: Attorney Ben Assad Mirza explored how emerging technology can help physicians better understand and evaluate employment agreements.

- Be Unforgettable: The Art (and Science) of Getting Hired: Mariela Alvarez-Sosa shared strategies for standing out in an increasingly competitive healthcare environment.

- Creating a Social Media Presence: The DOs and DON’Ts for Medical Professionals: Dr. Mona Amin of PedsDocTalk offered practical guidance on building an authentic and professional digital presence.

- The AI Toolkit: Smarter Workflows for Physicians: Dr. Christopher Chang, Dr. Marta Telatin, and Dana Wallace, MD, moderated by Dr. Yasmeen Abdul, explored how physicians can leverage AI to work smarter and more efficiently.
