Trina’s Birthdays, Inc., strives to create a fun and memorable birthday experience for children who reside in homeless and domestic violence shelters. At the age of 11, Trina was placed into foster care. She was fortunate enough to have attended many birthday parties, but unfortunate to have never had her own birthday celebrated. As a result, she experienced moments of dejection and oftentimes fel
t unwanted, undeserving, and jealous. Upon becoming an adult, Trina has devoted her life to ensuring that all kids, regardless or socioeconomic status will have their birthday celebrated. As a result of Trina’s experiences and her devotion to children, Trina’s Birthdays, Inc., has strived to create a fun and memorable birthday experience for children who reside in homeless and domestic violence shelters. How We Operate:
We carry out our mission anonymously. We do not meet the children who receive boxes, nor do we work directly with or interact with individual families. Local outreach programs and centers we have connected with provide us with the first name, age, gender and birth date of the child in need. Trina’s Birthdays, Inc., staff assembles a “Trina’s Birthday Box”, which includes at minimal, a fresh cake, candles, party utensils and an age-appropriate wrapped gift. A few days prior to the child’s birthday the Director of the Outreach facility is advised that a Trina’s Birthday Box has been assembled. On the child’s birthday, a Trina’s Birthday Box is delivered to the director of the outreach facility and in turn given to the child’s family. How You Can Be Of Assistance:
We collect toys and party supplies for children between the ages of 0–16 to assemble Trina’s Birthdays Birthday Boxes. We accept only new and unopened toys and supplies. Please contact us to arrange a pick-up or drop-off. We are in need of
Toys or gift cards (We provide age appropriate gifts to children ages 0 -16)
Party decorations, plates, candles, napkins, paper cups, table covers, plastic cutlery, birthday hats, blowers, party favors (treat bags), centerpieces, and candy. Due to the nature of the way our boxes are packaged and delivered we cannot accept
birthday invitations
blank birthday cards (store purchased)
bulk packaging of plates, napkins, forks, etc (each box is packed for one child’s party 8-16 guests)
