Shabbat Shalom Day #441
Pasha Vayeshev: “And He Dwelt”
Another Shabbat is approaching, and our hearts remain heavy as our brothers and sisters endure their 441st day of cruel captivity. We must remain steadfast in ensuring their suffering is never forgotten.
This past week brought both victories and challenges. Attacks from Iran’s Houthi rebel surrogates, growing instability in Syria, Turkish meddling, and unexplained drones flying in American skies remind us of the ever-changing landscape of threats and uncertainties. Yet, even amidst these trials, the resilience of our people shines through.
This week’s Torah portion, *Vayeshev* – “And He Dwelt,” tells of Yaakov’s longing for peace after years of hardship. However, his hopes are disrupted by family strife: Yosef’s dreams stir jealousy among his brothers, leading to his betrayal and eventual sale into slavery.
As we face our own challenges today, the lessons of *Vayeshev* call us to unity, faith, and resilience. Just as Yosef’s story culminates in reconciliation and triumph, so too can our nation overcome its struggles to emerge stronger and more united.
May Hashem protect and safely return our hostages.
May He guide and shield the brave men and women of the IDF.
May He watch over the State of Israel and the entire Jewish nation.
Shabbat Shalom, Am Yisrael Chai! ❤️🇮🇱🇺🇸
