We are excited to announce that Lindsay Mendiola, CFO of KIDZ Medical Services, has joined the Sofia’s Hope Board of Directors!

Lindsay brings extensive healthcare leadership experience and was first introduced to Sofia’s Hope through the KIDZ pediatric hematology/oncology practice located on the Nicklaus Children's Hospital campus. Prior to KIDZ Medical, she held leadership roles at Baptist Health South Florida and was recognized in 2025 as a South Florida Business Journal 40 Under 40 Awardee.

Bald, brave, and beautifully represented.

Through our Treasured Moments program and in collaboration with A Dolls Journey, Sofia’s Hope provides bald American Girl Truly Me dolls to young patients facing hair loss during cancer treatment.

What makes these dolls extra special? They’re available in three different skin tones, so each child can receive a doll that looks like her. When a child sees her own reflection, bald head and all, it helps normalize the experience and eases the fear and sadness that can come from losing her hair.

These dolls are more than toys. They remind our warriors that their bald heads are not something to hide, but a badge of courage and strength. A symbol of resilience. A reminder they are never alone.

Because every child deserves to feel seen, understood, and loved exactly as they are.

🏌️‍♂️ Golfing for a Purpose. Giving Back with Heart. 💚🎗️

Matthew, a childhood cancer survivor, created this fundraiser to give back and support families facing the same journey he once did, choosing Sofia’s Hope as the charity beneficiary.

So much joy and comfort filled the room at UM/alex’s place. 💚🧸

Each cuddly teddy bear brought smiles to children and teens, giving them something soft to hold during their day.

Younger patients enjoyed a Teddy Bear Clinic with medical play, while kids of all ages practiced deep breathing and created their own self-care and coping plans. 🦋🎗️

A truly special day!
