We’re incredibly excited to welcome Bardo Ski Team, formerly Team Aktiv mot kreft, to The Bardo Foundation family.

Founded by Norwegian athletes Halfdan Baumann and Erling Owren, the team believes in using sport as a platform for something bigger. For the 2026/27 Ski Classics season, they’ll carry Bernardo’s name and our mission across 15 races in six countries.

Every starting line is a new opportunity to raise awareness.

Look closely at the dots 👀 If all the money spent on cancer research were 100 dots, only 4 would go to childhood cancer 🎗️

Children are not small adults. Their cancers are different, and they deserve treatments designed for them. Yet for families facing osteosarcoma, the options have barely changed in decades, and underfunding is a big part of why.

At The Bardo Foundation, we’re working to change that by funding research and pushing for childhood cancer to get the attention it deserves.

Bernardo was 15 years old when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

Like many young people, he had dreams, plans, friends, and an entire future ahead of him. What started as pain eventually became a battle no child should ever have to face.

Today, his story lives on through The Bardo Foundation ❤️

Osteosarcoma is the most common bone cancer in children and young adults, yet treatment has changed very little in the last 40 years. That’s why awareness matters. That’s why research matters.

And that’s why we keep telling Bernardo’s story.

Miguel is an osteosarcoma warrior who faced one of the hardest challenges of his life: losing his leg to cancer.

Through The Bardo Foundation, we were able to support Miguel in getting the prosthesis he needed to take his next steps.

It started with the loss of a friend ❤️‍🩹 But it became something much bigger.
runningclub was created by Bernardo’s closest friends, a group of people who decided that his story would continue through every step they take.

Today, they run to honor Bernardo, raise awareness about osteosarcoma, and support a future where children facing this disease have better options.

Because true friendship doesn’t end...sometimes, it becomes a mission ❤️‍🔥🎗️
