September is 🎗️ And for us, awareness starts with one word that changed everything: osteosarcoma❤️‍🩹

Osteosarcoma is the most common type of bone cancer in children and teenagers, yet most people have never heard of it. Because it’s rare, early symptoms can be mistaken for sports injuries or growing pains, making awareness especially important.

This month, we’ll keep sharing Bernardo’s story, raising awareness, supporting children and families, and fighting for more research and better treatments.

And if you’re an osteosarcoma patient or survivor, we want to hear from you 💙 Feel free to reach out and share your story with us. By giving these experiences a voice, we can help more people understand the reality of osteosarcoma and remind others facing it that they are not alone.

That’s exactly what happened to Bernardo. His diagnosis changed his life forever, but it also became the reason The Bardo Foundation exists today.

The funds raised through The Bardo Foundation’s Earthquake Relief Fund are helping protect some of the most vulnerable children affected by the earthquake.

Your generosity is helping provide care and protection for children who have been separated from their families, while also ensuring that children undergoing cancer treatment can continue receiving life-saving chemotherapy without interruption during this time of immense strain on Venezuela’s healthcare system.

Bernardo had every reason to be angry...to complain...to give up...

But somehow, he kept finding reasons to smile. Not because the journey was easy. But because he chose to focus on what he still had, rather than what cancer tried to take away.

That kind of strength stays with you.

Today is 🎗️

Sarcoma accounts for only about 1% of adult cancers, but it represents around 15–20% of childhood cancers. Osteosarcoma, the most common bone cancer in young people, often affects teenagers during some of the most important years of their lives.

Bernardo was one of them ❤️‍🩹

His story is why we continue to raise awareness, fund research, and fight for better treatments.
