Dominican Sisters Conference

Dominican Sisters Conference Standing as a Clear Voice for Truth, Justice, and Peace. As faithful daughters of St. We engage in rigorous study leading to collaborative action.

Dominic, we are rooted in the rich tradition of the Order of Preachers, our global family of friars, nuns, sisters, and laity. Acting both globally and locally, the Dominican Sisters Conference places the transforming grace of the Dominican charism at the service of our world and Church, especially in responding to the cry of the poor and to the urgent need to preserve Earth’s integrity. Like our

sister Catherine of Siena, we embrace the prophetic call to speak truth in our day. Our preaching and action for justice are the fruit of our Dominican tradition of contemplative prayer and pursuit of truth through study and dialogue. The rich diversity of our membership enables us to broaden our individual perspectives and bring our experiences to bear on the needs of our world. We are a sign of unity in our fractured world with a strong, collective voice that speaks effectively for justice.

St. Catherine, we unite this day, on your feast day, as members of the global Dominican Family. We look to you who carried the vision and charism of St Dominic to the people of your time. You courageously used your voice to inflame hearts and bring the light of God to a troubled world. You praised and preached God's love and compassion for humankind in your outreach to those experiencing poverty, sickness, and injustice. We ask you to accompany us as we respond to God's call in our own times; to be instruments of God's love, reconciliation and healing as Dominicans. We seek the courage to use our voices to speak the truth of the Gospel, to work for justice, and to build community in a world divided. inspired and supported by your life, we renew this day our commitment as members of this Dominican Family.
