Join Miami Shores Pride on Sat. Oct. 25th at 6:30 pm for our 2nd movie night celebratimg LGBT+ History Month. Offering an open bar provided by DD Hospitality & Events and the Nadadores of South Florida Swim Team, we'll be featuring Grammy Hall of Famer and q***r icon Dusty Springfield, by viewing a documentary on her life and enjoying performances by drag star Joanna James.

Admittance free with a $25 donation (link in bio). Limited tickets available. Address to be emailed prior to the event.

About Dusty Springfield:
Born in 1939 in London, Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien knew from an early age she wanted to be a singer. She began her solo career in 1963 as Dusty Springfield and quickly racked up hit after hit. Best known for "Son of a Preacher Man", "Spooky", and "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me", Dusty is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member and was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as the #35 best artist of all time. Springfield began dating women in the 60's, publicly speaking about her love life with women as early as 1970. She saw a resurgence in her career in the late 80s with Pet Shop Boys' "What Have I Done To Deserve This."

Join Miami Shores Pride on Sat. Sept 27th at 6:30 pm to kick-off LGBT+ History Month for the 1st of 2 movie nights celebrating q***r icons. Featuring an open bar provided by Helix Vodka and DD Hospitality & Events, we'll be featuring the "Queen of Disco", q***r icon Sylvester, by viewing 2 short documentaries on his life and enjoy performances by "The Mouth of the South" and "Andy Cohen's favorite drag queen", Tiffany Fantasia!

About Sylvester: Born in 1947 and raised in the Pentacostal church, Sylvester was a groundbreaking, gender-bending, disco diva of the 70s and 80s who got his start in a group known as The Cockettes. Responsible for chart-topping hits like "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)", "Dance (Disco Heat)", and "Do You Wanna Funk", Rolling Stone ranked Sylvester at 169th on their list of Greatest Singers of All Time. Sylvester unapologetically discussed and celebrated his q***rness, including in 1986 on "The Late Show starring Joan Rivers" where he announced his marriage to a man, long before marriage equality was legal.

On this day JUST 10 years ago, the US Supreme Court ruled in Obergefell v. Hodges that the Constitution guarantees same-sex couples the right to marry! This ruling grants same-sex couples equal rights as other married couples, including hospital visitation rights, access to their spouse's health insurance and retirements, filing taxes as a couple, adoption/custody rights, etc. We celebrate our community members who have exercised their right to marry the person they love! Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Shores Pride is auctioning off a Virgin Cruise for 2 in a Sea Terrace room! Winnner will be able to choose their cruise from select available sailings in 2024. At the time of posting available cruises include an 11 night Mediterranean cruise, a 14 night Barcelona to Miami cruise, and of course cruises through the Caribbean.
